Just seen this. Its in a few places now. Not sure who it is so cant say if Id prefer them to Silent Stan yet. The hurdle to this take over is that the offer is for 100% of shares so Usmanov would ahve to agree to sell as well and getting permission from both of them could be a bit more difficult. Kronke is rich but that sort of money would probably tempt him, but Usmanov certainly doesnt need the money....or heres a thought, maybe it is Usmanovs way of gaining 100% stake in the club, after all it is an unnamed consortium.
It says we will be debt free, low ticket prices, that's hardly a City. Being promised funds to spend doesn't make you a City.
it is essentially making us into a new city. but looking at recent successes of chelsea (not so recent), man city and psg it is inevitable that in the next 10 years or so all the large clubs will be bought up and turned into clubs like city.
with FFP .. the sugar daddy days are over but sure i can see why they prefer to pick a proper club like Arsenal over PSG or other clubs .. as they will not survive FFP alike Arsenal and for Arsenal is good news, bcz am sure they rather direct all the money generated to the transfer kitty instead of paying the debt or into their pockets
If these guys are going to pump money into you guys, I think it's important not to go crazy like City did, as they are lumbered with a squad of mercenary's who are only there for the 200k. I'm not saying its not wise to spend big, all I'm saying is its important to try and sign players who want to join you for your ambition rather than big wages. You should look to do it more like Man Utd, who are 15 points clear at the top despite not spending anywhere near what City and Chelsea spend. Aslong as you keep Arsene Wenger there, you should do alright, as I'm sure he will only sign the right players
You won't become another City, because you're all ready a club known around the world. You'd just have more money to spend. City came into many spent cash to get the level they're at now. You could actually attract players with the fact that you're Arsenal, not because you're going to be paying then £200,000 a week.
I guess this will prove whether those who are saying that Kronke is only in it for the money are right or not.
I can't see us becoming city, because wenger and people in the boardroom etc are careful with money, it would just put us into another market where we are able to compete with the likes of chelsea man utd man city spurs etc and have a decent chance of signing the players wenger wants. For years we have worked under limited funds, and as long as wenger is retains his position as manager then i am confident that we won't end up with the shambolic mess that is chelsea football club.
Let's see if we invest this summer. If we don't then this consortium are going to gain a lot of support.
Ferdinand £30m Rooney £30m Carrick £16.5m Valencia £18m RVP £24m Smalling £10m De Gea £18m Kagawa £12m Young £18m Nani £14m Anderson £18m Bebe £7.5m Vidic £7m As per your talking utter horseshite
I for one don't want this at all. We have had eight years of austerity and it seems we are finally in a position to invest properly in the squad. To sell out now would mean it was all for nothing. I hate the vulgar and obscene financial doping that has occurred since Abramovich's arrival and I have never advocated it as a solution to our on-the-pitch problems. It's my view that we don't need to spend ridiculous money in order to compete, just a sensible meritocracy in terms of our player's wages and the occasional investment in world class players in key positions to augment the young talent we already have. If we bought Cavani, Capoue and a top CB, along with competition for Szcesney we wouldn't bankrupt ourselves and we would have a competitive squad without the kind of ludicrous over-spending we have seen at City and Chelsea. Selling the soul of our club in order to increase our transfer fund would be curing the headache by cutting off the head.
LFC fan in peace, do Arsenal fans think is gonna happen, I suspect it isnt, the Citeh and Abramovic deals where concluded b4 the press even got to know about it,Ive read somewher the Arabs are sayin they will only go with the deal if you get top 4.I have got to say I would have doubts over any potential owner using the word "if" in any potential deal
Those transfers were funded by the income the club makes, not by foreign investment. Chelsea have still had a net spend that is probably about 5 times what we've spent over the past 10 years. Don't forget we have sold alot of players for big money over the past 10 years. Ronaldo 80m Beckham 25m Veron 18m RVN 16m We also promote players from our academy, unlike Chelsea who only have 1 in John Terry, who you can even argue was poached from West Ham!
Some of those transfers happened nearly 10 years ago! You can make a list of Chelsea and City mercenaries and it would be 4x the length of this one.
