We play well and quite often not win. We play indifferent and never win, today was a game we should of won even without our A game.

No, we will not be in the bottom three if we lose next week. We're three points clear, and with a 10-goal edge on Wigan...unless you have us down for a 9-1 loss, we'll still be above the line regardless.

And no, Adkins did not build up a five-point gap between us and 18th when he was sacked. The gap after the Chelsea game was three points and 15 goals. The gap now is three points and 14 goals.

It's remarkable how consistently wrong you manage to be on easily-verifiable facts.

Very disappointed today, but somehow I half expected it. Not that I subscribe to the view that QPR will save themselves, but I could see them scoring first and holding out. I thought we would go onto win when we equalised though. I think we started with the wrong attitude and couldn't shake it off, rather like Man City when we beat them.

typical relegation game really, nothing changes as both will be one of the contenders with villa and reading......game could have gone to both teams and qpr got lucky and won it.....they would have lost that on another day....

We lost. Both teams were poor, but even with this we could have had four today.

None of what happened today means that MP is bad, the transfer window was bad or we should panic. We have played well recently and no-one moaned. One very poor game and the doom starts. Still loads of points to go for and I am confident that we can pick up the required points.

It is not about today or "one very poor game".

Having seen us play well and yet toss points away at Wigan and Newcastle because of rank bad defending, I am frustrated and worried for our Premier League survival.

Gutted we lost, especially to his team. Never mind, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives. I`d rather be in our position than QPR, Wigan, Reading. Since when was it easy being a Saints Fan ? Next game please - lets see if we can cut the mustard at Norwich !

Bitterly disappointed and very frustrated with the performance of the players except Ramirez and Fonte who played well. Lambert was atrocious today - for me, his worst performance in a Saints shirt. Puncheon, Lallana and Fox were also poor.

But fair play to Redknapp - he got his tactics spot on.

Good job you sacked Adkins when you were 3 points clear of relegation so you could push on and get... 3 points clear of relegation :emoticon-0138-think

A very bad result as we were expected to win and had we done so QPR would be pretty much relegated and us a lot safer. However we are probably in a better position now than we were this morning. Both Reading and Wigan lost and their goal difference is worse for it.

The teams below us have to play eachother in the next few weeks. Thats why QPR are a bit more buoyed. The good thing for us is that both teams can't get 3 points.

Still think we will be fine and another three wins will probably do it for us and as we get towards then end of the season we will be playing sides without anything to play for. Not really anymore worried now than I was this morning. Those profits of doom amongst us should probably log off for the night have a few beers and slepp on it. It isnt that bad for us at all.

Playing Everton, UTD, Citeh, Newcastle away I only wanted to be in touch with 17th place. The fact that we have got those games out of the way and not lost any ground on the teams below us I am fairly happy.

Had we lost to Citeh and beat QPR nothing would have changed and we would be pretty happy tonight.

On the way back to the car after the game, I was debating with those who I go with, what fans of Villa, Reading and Wigan would be feeling about our result (and even more so now, now that Wigan have lost 4-0).

Ordinarily, I'm sure they're all more than happy to see us lose. Keeps us in the pack. But ultimately, they don't actually need to finish above us to survive. 17th is enough. And they now have a 4th challenger for that place (although I would argue that they always did). QPR could even go above Reading next weekend now.

My conclusion was I'd be annoyed at Saints right now. I'd have ideally wanted a draw between Saints and QPR, but if either side had to have won, then I'd have wanted it to be Saints. But the general view amongst those I was talking to was fairly split. I've got two Villa fans in the office, so it'll be interesting to see what they say on Monday.

I haven't seen the game yet on MOTD. My guess would be Redknapp dragged the game down to his level and won with pragmatism and experience whereas Pochettino is still learning the league. Just a guess though.

Howard Webb should be banned from refereeing Saints games. We can't seem to win when he referees!

Listening to the match reports on the radio whilst driving today, felt it was going to be one of those games again when Saints never seem to kill off teams worse than themselves. Time and again with all kinds of managers we have always, it seems, been the scene of benevolence with teams having a hard time of it whether it be lacking in goals or on a bad run of results. When they visit us their luck always seems to change! Must be the sea air that revitalises them. Anyway with Wigan lossing another 4 goals on the GD today, things could have been much worse. Norwich will be a tough and probably not a very rewarding game, they have a fantastic home support which seems to get them valuable points even when the team is not playing them well.
However, after today a few truths will become more obvious to MP re his team and I reckon this week's training will be a non-relenting effort to get a result and at least a point next week. Defensively something needs to change with both the method and mentality of the players we have. It's no use moaning about the players we would like to have, MP has to get a better repsonse and a more ruthless approach from the ones currently available. As others have said many times, we are in for a very long end to the season. I think we have just about enough to get us through but with the present squad, despite good perfomances against good teams, we are always likley to get this inconsistency when we least need it. Disappointed, certainly, but no way near throwing in the towel. Supporting Saints since 1956 I never have and never will. COYR!!
