I hope Hull City and Leicester City Both go up. My accumulator went down with you losing today IF We get automatic IF I will deffo be supporting LcFc in the play offs .
Fair play then. It seems I overestimated flat-top's no 2 then. .... I hope for Wash's sake that Leicester make the playoffs.... I still reckon Shakey would make a decent scout (which "doh" was the point of the original message) Cheers Carmine.
How do you think you'll do over the next four games? Three are away (including Palace) and you have in-form Forest at home. Could make or break your season. We now have two back-to-back home games against Yorkshire opponents.
If we play like we did today, we'll win them, if we play like we did at Bolton, we'll lose them. That's football for you. The difference between us and the teams around us, is that we've finally got a strike force(something that's been our Achilles heel all season) and through luck or judgement, we're much stronger now, than we were a few weeks ago.
Too true. We played brilliantly against Blackburn, OK against Blackpool but the two matches either side of those - not good enough. You just don't know what you're going to get in this league. I stated on here earlier that we've lost eleven and it's not goods enough, but I see Watford and Hull are potentially one match away from doing the same! When we got promoted in second place in 2003, we lost six matches in total. This league gets more unpredictable every year. Anyone who thinks we'll finish fifth and Hull will finish second just because that's how it is now is deluded. There's still many, many points to play for. OLM, would you say you're weaker on the road? You're obviously a tough proposition at home, but, plummeting Millwall aside, you haven't won away before Christmas. It's definitely the case with us.
... I think you will need us to beat Watford ... they were coasting at Wolves before that late strike from Sako ... (who I'd like us to sign - he is far too good for that Wolves team) ...
really now, you should be tracking Middlesboro and palace's form. get a grip. You are 8 pts of auto, andd 3 off "also ran" status. You may have a game in hand but you have to win it. I can understand you clutching at straws but any independent observer would say it was between Hull and watford for second, with palace as dark horse now. Things may change of course - as you'll be hoping' There are plenty of games left, but you seem to believe that you will be there by right. you have to win more games against 4 teams in better form than you. if you are willing to make that prediction, then go right ahead. feel free.
I'd say our performances on the road haven't differed significantly from our home performances, with the exception of the first 7 1/2 minutes at Bolton. In fact, our 3-5-2 formation suits a counter attacking style away from home, but we do seem to find it harder to find the net on our travels. We've suffered all season from not having an effective strike force, Aluko and Simpson did well for a while, but Aluko will end up playing only half our games this season and Simpson looks poor without him. Obviously Proschwitz has been a disappointment and Fryatt has missed the entire season, so today was the first game all season where we looked like we had a proper striker partnership. Palace will be a serious test, but I just watched the Forest game and they don't look close to us, though we'll lose to Burnley, we always lose at bloody Burnley(it's also on TV and we tend to be poorer in TV games, so it's written in the stars).
Aye, it would be nice if you cost them points. We still have to play them at the KC as well - that will be the match that defines our season.
When NP was our manager he always used to say "dont get to high with a win or to low with a defeat" wise words, as you say still a long way to go, i regard your team a bit like ours, play to there full potential and they will beat anyone in this league but have an off day and you can soon get beat. We were outstanding today but having gone to Bolton last week it was embarrassing, we had an off day and got hammered. We have a big week, two away games at Palace and Burnley both difficult games and then Forrest at home, if we are still second after those games then i think we will have a good chance but at the moment there is still a long way to go
Err - Typing!!! Other hand currently holds a cigar, though is equally poised between phone with kebeb shop on speed-dial and yet another bottle of wold-top's finest. Cheers.
