We hit Liverpool at their peak twice, Chelsea at their peak. Why do we hit these "big teams" at the top of their peak every time? It's unreal. United are 15 points clear for a reason.
Am I being overcritical if I say that was a very negative performance? We played from the start as if we were happy to lose 2-0. I know they're the best team in England but perhaps we should have gone for it. The argument against going for it is our goal difference, but I doubt if we'd have been much worse off by the end. And United might not have been up for a team who were really willing to have a go, what with Real Madrid coming up on Tuesday. But maybe I'm talking bollox. I really don't know what to think.
It's hard to be positive at Old trafford when they get half your team on a yellow card. They love getting people sent off. I think we fought well enough and thats the end of it. Back to Carrow road and real games.
At least United didnt do the double over us and we have that win earlier in the season to hold on to.
Scoreline possibly not a fair reflection of the game, but we were NEVER in it, never looked closed to scoring and never were going to threaten to Manchester United. I only hope we are going to play alot better vs Southampton next week!
It really is us and them nowadays. How long before a breakaway European plastic super-league. Barca, Madrid etc?
that was, without doubt, the worst attempt at a cross i have ever seen. what a different match it might have been if that led to Holt scoring.
I thought the match really showed up the weaknesses of Johnson. He is great at breaking up play but his distribution is truly awful. He works very hard, though, and I don't want to slag him off. I thought Howson looked very limited, too, and perhaps he is not going to succeed at this level. Strange, at the start of the season I thought we had a potentially wonderful midfield. Now I think it's the area we may need to strengthen most. Btw, was that Johnson's fifth yellow? Does he miss a game? May be a problem if Tettey is still injured. And please, please, Liverpool. For once can you do us a favour?
If the Liverpool score stays as is, at least we'll still have that 8 point cushion regardless of what Villa do at Citeh on Monday Only real positive I can find, I'm afraid. I do agree with vietnamcanary, Howson this season has looked like a very average championship player - and that includes his start vs Luton Town. What happened to the promise he showed when he arrived this time last year?
I agree that Howson has been below par this season, except for last week against Everton when he was exceptional.
I don't think the score reflected game, it was a strange game really, some very suspicious decisions from the officials at the sametime we didn't have the composure when we needed it. Kagawa the lad who got the hat trick wasn't exactly the best player on the pitch or did anything brilliant he was just in the right place at the right time.
Well, our goals for was certainly a reflection on our performance, but I don't think we deserved to concede four, although no doubt Manchester United deserved a comfortable win, so really there is not much difference.
