Well since i go to Rangers games when i can if i'm away from hull, they boycotted an important cup clash in january away to spl dundee united that was on sky.. This game does need boycotting otherwise a dangerous precedent will set in and it will become the norm, we aren't a police state and football fans should be no different..

I agree about it needing boycotting, anyone who goes is just a low life selfish scum bag who doesn't care about the other fans.

    It's surely a catch 22 situation..

If no city fans go wyp will have a much easier day while still getting paid, if city fans go, wyp will still have a much easier day escorting the fans right to the ground..

Wyp would probably rather no away fans travelled to any games the best thing to do if possible is for 1,000 coty fans to go to the centre of huddersfield being extremely passionate and vocal without being loutish and use the many bars and pubs.. This would create a far bigger message and make it a lot harder for the police..

That's only true if you think this is about one game and a boycott is the only protest.

There's now a significant number saying they're going to Huddersfield anyway but not going into the ground, so there'll be no Police savings to be made. People don't even have to turn up in Huddersfield, the Police have no way of knowing and know way of preventing you doing anything except the usual non-football laws and entering the away end at the Stadium.

I really wouldn't. It's much nearer to go to this game than any home game for me, 20 minute train ride and the prospect of a good day on the beer and home before 6pm but I fundamentally don't agree with what has happened here. Call me a prissy knickers and drama queen but I think anyone going is a disgrace.

    Just my opinion like.

I prefer this idea to a full boycott, although not quite my preference. The main issue is unless the club reject the tickets there is no way no fans will turn up, there will be about 500-600, so i am fully behind a boycott but if there are still 500 or so there its pointless.

The main issue i have is that there are two many independent parties, to many different people have to many different views and there is no way of putting all of these together, we need a way to combine them all, some form of meeting etc..... Personally i think without us all doing something as one this thread is completely pointless.

I feel a boycott is impossible without the club backing it so some other form of action. I like the idea of turning up beforehand and then on mass all of us going in twenty minutes before kick off, with some form of chants and huge banners, and everytime we score or something happens like a substitute we get the banners criticising the WYP out, anytime where the camera's will be on us.

Then after the match i think some form of sit in or refusal to leave the ground would be a brilliant idea, anything to get our views across.

I don't see how this would affect any political or court action, then after the game we can't let it drop either.

As i understand it, the leeds based lads have a pub they're meeting in. i think there are a couple of others showing it out that way too.

It may not go ahead, if it does they may well lose(just my opinion). If they do go ahead and lose, then what?

i agree its either a full boycott or its pointless...
if a few hundred turn up then thats the norm for this league anyway especially for a televised game so it wouldnt grab anybodies attention...
still think not turning up at all and giving the police an easy day is a bad option, not saying we should cause trouble but 2000 fans in there pubs watching the game would have them on edge all day and maybe have them realising its not such a good idea after all

DJ, the return of the tickets would show the club understood fans feelings, in itself the boycott is not the protest.

There's plenty going through to Huddersfield and the surrounding area for a drink and hopefully watch the football. To show the nonsense of the Police position, some have the offer of going into the ground with Huddersfield fans, while others are meeting with Huddersfield fans in the local pubs.

From having a few thousand turn up to one known place, they've got lots of groups scattered all over their region. <laugh>

    Police intelligence?

i appreciate you're joking, but the police will be quite happy to snip selective quotes to justify their ridiculous position.

Huddersfield fans are shoulder to shoulder with us on this, so it should be a peaceful day out. <ok>

i have not lost the point . My point is that there WILL still be 1500 (or 1700) city fans regardless. so i will be going, assuming i can get a ticket. If it is a total boycott then i will not go .

I'm struggling there. You'll totally support a boycott, unless you can get a ticket if you think someone else is going?

Each to their own, but I'm struggling to see where your principles are on that one.

This is why I asked the question that most seem to be missing, should THE CLUB refuse the tickets?

In case of preying eyes searching for intelligence, my post about bricking the TT coach was also taking the piss. Perhaps you could edit that in Dutch as got poor reception on my phone.
