Gareth Bale, the best player in the PL? If he is, then that just shows how ****e the PL is this year. Everyone was raving about Modric last season and he's been awful this season. Put Bale in a decent team and he'll be piss poor.
Can't agree with that mate. I think he's carrying Spurs single handed and has long range efforts and long, successful running with the ball to show for it. Purple face should have got manager of the month for all but winning the title.
Point of info... No one's requested a QPR-only forum (plenty of those out there already). Wouldn't make sense on a football-wide site where we interact with fans of other clubs. Any thread about football is fine as far as I know. As for Bale. Great improving talent imho. Wasn't THAT long ago he was just an injury prone left back... What price Traore then?!!
Personally, I think Bale is awesome and light years ahead of anything currently in a hoop. I would say the same for RVP and Suarez too. [Completely unrelated, but I think Wigan's re-signing (on loan?) of Scharner was a great piece of business for them - I quite rate him 'cos he's both wily and gets stuck in.]
RVP is a completely different type of player to Bale. I think RVP and Saurez are the two best forwards, whilst Bale is becoming an amazing talent. On top form, Rooney is as good as any imo. Also Mata and Hazard at Chelsea.
I'm not saying Bale isn't a good player, he's certainly better than anyone in a Q.P.R. shirt and also an Arsenal shirt, I just don't think he's the best. The other players that have been mentioned would play well for a better side, but I don't think Bale would. Thank goodness no one mentioned Theo Walcott - the most overrated in the PL (plays well in one out of ten games).
A bit controversial perhaps, but I don't believe Rooney ever managed to hit the true heights suggested by the potential shown when he was a 16-year old at Everton. Don't get me wrong, he's still a quality player, but I don't think he ever managed to sustain that thrusting, attacking, aggressive approach to the game; at least not at the level that was promised. Certainly, he's not been the fearsome international match winner I wanted him to be.
I think Rooney has passed his peak. I think too much was expected of him too young, he was a man in a boy's body and the relentless number of games he has played has taken the edge off his game. Still an exceptional talent but not quite as good as he should have been...
