They did this last year and it backfired massively. They'd have been far better off bringing the upgrade for the first day of the test and having four full days to set it up, rather than trying to keep it hidden for an extra two days and spend the first four races trying to understand it.

    TD3 - TD4 - (1 good week to look into data) - FP1 x2 - FP2 x2 - FP3 x2

Seems enough time to set up to me tbh.

Grosjeans going to start on pole and crash into the Caterhams, Marussians, Ferrari's and red-Bulls at the first turn!

    Anyway body language:

    Button: Panicking, anxiety, irritated.

    Alonso: Bored, calm, relaxed.

Seb: Very relaxed, joking, very confident.

    Grosjean: Same as Alonso.

Rosberg: Pretty relaxed, excited Lewis is there, bit of anxiety with the upgrades.

Ricciardo: Bit upset with little running, signs of anxiety with the progress, excitement for Australia.

Because the original design for the RB8 was banned right before testing, this one hasn't been banned so they're much more prepared this time.

Did you notice in his interview that he swallowed and sucked his lip when Rachel Brookes asked if Red Bull and Ferrari will be main protagonists? Then when he said Mercedes was the car that had impressed him the most he was looking to the right (lying). He was also lying when he said that Lotus and "Force India at times" look strong.

I think we have our two fastest cars.

07:53 Some breaking news courtesy of @noblef1. Kimi Raikkonen is ill and will be replaced by Lotus reserve driver Davide Valsecchi this morning. Romain Grosjean, who finished his pre-season programme yesterday, has been told to turn around and come back to the track. He is due at Barcelona this afternoon.

07:47 This is the view of the Barcelona pitlane this morning. The grey skies of the past two days are a thing of the past, so there should be plenty of opportunity for 'proper' race simulations today.

The whole rear was compromised which would of affected the whole car. Slightly a problem.

    Yes

Looks like he was imagining the whole "decent" car at the start and then followed up with the long runs being his reason and focused more in the middle with his eyes. In short he was always going to say Mercedes but just put down the consistency as the main reason for his choice. Looks like Mercedes have closed the gap to McLaren, would explain the body language of Lewis and Nico which was pretty positive. He also looks irritated that they're that close as well as he scratches his ear after that. Looks like McLaren and Jenson are under a lot of pressure and it seems he wants to put it Lewis' way instead.

With Lotus he wasn't lying, that was remembered feeling with his bottom right eye sight but was honest about the reliability issues for them. Force India looked more exaggerated and more as an act to fill in with the conversation.

Also looks like Lewis made the best choice of his career, the environment was his priority in having a team mate like Nico. Seems like a good match in and out of the car.

AMuS: 09:46 Red Bull leaves the garage. There had been in the final laps, many photographers gathered. Even a man in Mercedes team clothing mixes among the onlookers. Half an hour before Red Bull team manager Jonathan Wheatley had checked in the press, which can be seen from above through the glass. The press center is located on the Red Bull box. Webber will not immediately return to the pits, but continues for another round. The RB9 is fitted on the left side box with a huge aero-meter.
