So, as long as it says 'manager' on his CV, his decisions shouldn't questioned, as he obviously knows more than us?

I'm fine with supporting whoever takes to the field, but suggesting that the bloke who picks them must have made the right choice, just because he's a manager, is patent nonsense.

We've had plenty of managers who didn't know their arse from their elbow and seemed to take great delight in proving it on a weekly basis and in the 2009/10 season, it was Brownies turn.

When we played Bpool earlier this season, and Mr Kevin Phillips started warming up on the touchline I said "Watch this **** come on and score"

Lo and behold KP promptly came on and scored within 3 minutes, I spotted this was going to happen and SB obviously didn't. Therefore anyone can do SB's job, right? And it's easy to spot what needs to be improved or what's working well.

Armchair management. It's a piece of piss <laugh>

Eight pages on this post, I've read em all, Artic Monkey got it spot on four pages back: couldn't agree with him more.
Shame it turned out like that, but its gone, lets move on, for me to a better manager than that period and hopefully a successful future:

That post from Arctic Monkey could well be the most sense spoken on this board in a long while. I'm actually quite ashamed considering he's 18 and he understood the situation to a higher degree than most of us. It's not swayed either way in regards to his opinion. Brilliant.

    Definitely earned himself a rep!

Aye,it's a decent post that says what most have been saying.

I may be wrong in the occasion but I do recall a player admitting that a large part of the dressing room were lost after ManC; I have the feeling it was George Boateng on Soccer AM - it was sometime after Brown was sacked.

Bruce has blamed the pitch and also he was praising Stewart yesterday but sent him out on loan today. Isn't that the kind of thing you criticised Brown for further up?

I honestly thought you had more intelligence, because the answer is no. We know the pitch is not great, but SB has always been straight in his post match interviews - it is widely praised on all boards. One of the most common remarks is 'refreshing'.

Where the **** were you when Brown was making his bizarre and damaging remarks about Geo and when he treated players with a total lack of respect? I can clearly recall the boards full of folk puzzled by his contradictions and disrespectful comments in regional and national interviews. I'm not making any of this up, it is easily researched to be factual, but you seem intent to argue a redundant point. You are clearly incapable of separating fact from opinion and seeing that the rehabilitation and progression of a young player is totally different to the character assassination of senior team members; I'm not interested in argument , although I do like thoughtful debate and you are not doing that.

He has praised Stewart's re-found application and performance, he has sent him out to develop him. He is being a constructive and proactive manager with a young player who lost his way.

    Poor argument.

The boards are full of morons who slag off the players and the manager in the name of 'I'm entitled to an opinion'.

Which opinions and how much weight you give these is your choice.

But he has blamed the pitch just as you're saying Brown did... I don't hold it against him personally, I believe him.

As for Stewart, everything you've put there could be applied to Brown as well when he praised players before dropping them. Surely you can see the comparison between those two things?

It's half-time and we are 3-0 up; happy days!

It was a throw away remark 're: pitch/Brown to emphasise his tendency to blame everything from the pitch to round pegs. In regard to your reference to SB/pitch he mentioned it was a poor surface, he said it was the same for all and that we needed to adapt - quite positive in reality. You are getting both desperate and boring now.

    Press also.

To be fair I would have to agree on the boards if we had to rely on ISTPLT and you. :emoticon-0138-think

Sorry Agro, I was backing you up earlier but then went and got laid...

If people look at the facts I can't see how they can slate Brown. To me it seems more like people were embarrassed by his character and how it sometimes manifested itself in front of the media.

Brown took us the highest we've ever been - 3rd in the Premier league early in our first ever season there. We beat some big teams with amazing performances and survived. With regards to this it just seems over the top to me, the way some people are going on. The man should be a hero to us all, despite how things ended. Nothing lasts forever.

Yep, seems to be 'I dislike Phil Brown, so I will just reel off a series off incidents and decisions and present them as some sort of 'damning analysis''.<laugh>
