No I'm a happily married man! On a less juvenile note... I would take Torres back to Liverpool if he were cheap. Not worth risking a lot of money BC he isn't what he was. Yes... how he left was bad... but I don't blame him 100%.
Can't see him ever getting it back- unless he goes home to Spain. Have to be better prospects out there.
His heads gone, he's been largely crap for 3 years now. It should also be noted that he's only ever scored more than 20 league goals in a season, once in his career, so maybe he was always somewhat overated off the back of a brilliant spell of form?
Point of note, the same was true for RVP until last season. However he isnt doing a Torres this season unfortunately
I was chatting with a United supporter yesterday and floated the idea that it wouldn't surprise me to see Torres back at Anfield. He thought it unlikely but I still have a gut feeling that it could happen.
don't see him taking a pay cut to be honest, or not much of one any way. if he loves his football that much he may, just to try and get a bit of pride back if he is good enough to still, but we heard that crap from Joe Cole, he was all about the money.
It will only happen if he is cheap... think FSG paying high money for risks is gone... they want to make money on xfers. If Torres moves and again is bad he will have almost no xfer value after that. Its pretty obvious Torres regrets leaving Liverpool where he was adored... he has risked upsetting the chavs at times to try to smooth things over with us.
If Rafa can't get him back to some form, what chance has Brendan got? Rhetorical question because the answer's ****-all chance.
muppetfinder, it was because we have what Chelsea don't have, a Stevie G thinking about it, if that was the reason might be worth a punt, as him and Stevie on same wave length and Sturridge and Luis on same wave length, win win all round.
We all know how good he was. Even you SoS If he'd re-found any of his Liverpool form Chelsea would be closer to the top two and that is a fakht. He has still had moments of brilliance for Chelsea and I still believe if he went somewhere he was happier he'd get goals again. I don't want him back at Anfield though and I'm sure it wouldn't suit any party for him to come back. I just can't see it in happening at all. This will go down like the proverbial lead balloon but....I'd rather we saved any money and just brought Mandy back (as well as one more forward/striker). Straight away we'd have options available. Height and a bit of muscle (flab) from Carroll, pace from Sturridge and Sterling, trickery from Suarez and hopefully Coutinho and another quality striker. Add to that Suso, Gerrard as the attacking mid and even Enricky who looked decent further forward then we can comfortably see the back of Downing and probably Shelvey and Borini and use a couple of the younger players again for early COCup and UEFA games if required. If we play with 3 forwards and one attacking midfielder that gives us cover of 2 players per position and most of them can rotate and interchange between at least 2 of those positions. The simple fakht is that against the sort of teams we've struggled against this year Carroll would have been a far more useful weapon than Torres would have been (or Borini has been for that matter) Ps I do know that Mandy coming back is about as likely as Torres coming back.
Funny that seeing as Brenda's managed to get Suarez scoring yet as you say Rafa hasn't got Torres back to form Try not to warp every one of your thoughts with visions of Rafa and Kenny running through flowery meadows hand in hand MFG
