I've read and seen enough to form an opinion ... when I wrote what is underlined I meant I haven't spent a lot of time giving a too much thought to it. Why be that fussed about it ... It's only football! I then asked some simple questions. A number of users also agreed with my opinions/summary. Is that good enough for you?
Sorry Rebs ... I'm stuck with an image of the IRA a la "In the name of the Father"... all flares n parkas!
LNS important point. LNS ruled that the registrations were valid once the players were registered, because he was told by Bryson that there was no mechanism to revoke the registration, no matter what, retrospectively. On the face of it LNS was correct in his judgement, given Brysons evidence, however as revealed on CQN today, rule 56.8 states clearly that a players registration can be cancelled if any wrong doing is found later. LNS should, as a leading legal mind have consulted the SFA rules and regulations himself. He clearly elected, for some strange reason not to. BRYSON either was incompetent in not knowing his own rules, despite having months to review them in detail, or he elected, for reasons best known to himself not to reveal rule 56.8 Jorge Cadette anyone ?
Doesn't matter, they have been found guilty but the punishment is a fine that they don't have to pay. LNS doesn't think they gained any advantage but he could be wrong if they end up losing the BTC.
Rangers: The company that ran them is in the process of being liquidated- No. The club founded in 1873 and incorporated in 1899 is being liquidated There is a new company running them now- no. A new company bought the assets from Rangers football club The team that plays in Division 3 is called Rangers- yes. I think that is what they are called. Either that or the Rangers They have started again but are still Rangers Football Club, due to the transfer of SFA membership (is this right?)- No. Rangers ceased to operate as a football club. Think about it? How can you transfer something to yourself. If they make it back to the SPL, I'll see it as a Celtic v Rangers game - no longer the Old Firm derby tho, as I think both teams have now cut themselves away from that tag (thank ****)... just a Glasgow Derby.- i can't tell you what to think, but they cannot make it back somewhere they have never been. Ask Charles Green. However, as they started again, can a football claim really claim the history of Rangers ... Correct. Questions to think about Is it the same situation with Fiorentina? Genuine question as I'm not sure ... What do their rivals think of Fiorentina?- good question. Insolvency laws are different in Italy. You could ask Med Dog who made the same comparison in Feb 12 when everyone understood what liquidation would mean and ***** madness took over. A reaction that was completely and utterly predictable. Do Fiorentina claim Fiorentina's history?- aye they do. And everyone else tells them not to be so stupid.
I prophosised similarly, hence Im not beelin about the verdict as it was expected : foreskinned is forearmed as they say in Gentile circles.
Reb, I don't know how many times you, Albatross, Eric and (I think), one or two others, have to post and explain about the situation in order to get it through to some people. I could be wrong, of course, but it would seem that they haven't taken and won't bother taking, the time to read your posts; they are simply too dumb to understand or retain the information; or they deliberately want to believe something else. If any of those suggestions is/are the case then it would also appear that you will never get through to them. I do, however, admire your patience and persistence in trying though, for which you deserve a gold medal.
Some of us knew that Rangers wouldn't lose titles. Rangers have broken rules or had Referees breaking the rules and laws of the game for decades. What we know now After this blatant breech of reading the law and common sense , that Rangers will be So confident that any law or rule can be breeched successfully without any worries for Rangers International in the future .
That's possibly the one thing going forward. As rangers were punished with a fine as they gained no sporting advantage, what about all the other clubs who were flung out of cups for fielding ineligible players? Can they now sue the governing body for there mistreatment and incorrect punishment? Just like in the summer rangers should be treated the same as any other club. I might not agree with the punishment but rules are rules. If other teams are awarded a 3-0 defeat for fielding ineligible players then so should rangers. Or the sfa should apologise too those clubs it flung out the cup for an "admin error."
