Just been on local news that our owners have splashed out and bought our ground. Gives them free reign to develop now.
LCFC Owners Purchase King Power Stadium Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce that the Club’s owners, the Srivaddhanaprabha family, have completed the purchase of King Power Stadium. The purchase of the stadium site by the Club’s owners, through their K Power Holdings Co Ltd, from its previous owners, an American pension fund manager, forms a key part of the family’s plans to safeguard the Club’s long-term future. Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Vice Chairman of Leicester City Football Club, said:“It has always been part of our long-term vision to put the stadium back where it belongs, into the hands of the Football Club. Our plan is to bring long-term sustainable success to Leicester City Football Club. Purchasing the stadium was always a key element in this plan. The previous stadium owners have always been very cooperative. Whilst there are no immediate plans to alter the structure or design of the stadium site, the increased flexibility through direct ownership ensures that the Football Club can freely adjust to the changing needs of its supporter-base for the future.” In September 2012, the Srivaddhanaprabha family placed Leicester City under the direct ownership of King Power International (KPI) - the parent and holding company of the globally successful and respected King Power Group of companies. The purchase of King Power Stadium further highlights the family’s long-term vision to deliver sustainable success for the Football Club. This significant investment in the Club’s infrastructure will allow the Club increased flexibility in the future. “The stadium already bears the proud name of King Power, but this latest development truly makes the home of Leicester City part of the Srivaddhanaprabha family’s central business and sporting interests,” added Susan Whelan, Leicester City’s Chief Executive Officer. “For firstly the Football Club, and now its magnificent stadium to be aligned so closely with a group of companies of such global success and repute can only be beneficial for the future of Leicester City, while the removal of all significant third party debt ensures a more sound financial position from which the Club can progress.” Good news. £17m apparently.
Looks like excellent news - just hope that: "Whilst there are no immediate plans to alter the structure or design of the stadium site, the increased flexibility through direct ownership ensures that the Football Club can freely adjust to the changing needs of its supporter-base for the future.” ... means that they are confidently expecting to expand the capacity to accommodate more fans as we become an established force in the Prem ... rather than contracting capacity to reflect a continued and perhaps mediocre existence in the Championship!!!!!!!!!!
Thats fantastic news, just hope they dont follow in the footsteps of the Cardiff owners and change our colours and the name to maybe the Leicester Leopards Feel sorry for Cardiff, forced to change their colours to red and now possibly their name to the Cardiff Dragons, that would leave me breathing Fire lol!!!
There's a whole thread on the subject on the Hull Board - I believe the latest is that the Cardiff owners have just now released a statement stating that they heve no immediate plans to change the club's name ..
So that mean they are then http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...diff-ditch-plans-change-kit-colour-badge.html
So today our owners buy a stadium for 17M. And then the council plan to pure money down the drain by spending 10.5M doing up the Haymarket bus station
What's wrong with that - have you been to the bus station? It is a ****hole and needs doing up - I'm more pissed off at them taking so long to decide to do it up.
10.5M on a bus station? Seriously It doesnt matter how good the bus station is the bus service will still be ****
Will there bubble burst now the main money man has left? http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/article/dato-chan-tien-ghee-steps-down-687877.aspx
I love how you seem to be hoping all the clubs with money to go tits up so Millwall are the last club left on Earth. You're like a religious nut waiting for Judgement Day! Don't worry, you may get a rich benefactor soon. It's the only way to go.
... I feel a song coming on ... "Vincent Tan's the money man the money man the money man Vincent Tan's the money man Craig Bellamy's a ****"
