Yes, unless his translator is a tease. On OS, Zamora out and Ben Haim doubtful; Remy could return. Mentions Puncheon's spell in the wilderness at QPR...chance for him to prove what they missed.
Not in yesterday's press conference he didn't, he said he hadn't told the players the team yet so he wouldn't comment. If Zamora is out then Rémy is certainly more of a threat! But paradoxically Zamora's absence makes him less of one. With Zamora out we can simply play a deep defensive line and Rémy will be unable to run in behind. As long as the midfielders pick up Taarabt, their attack is going to be pretty blunted.
On Player (when interviewed away from press conference), he mentioned others that would be assessed after training. However, on relistening he added that he hoped that everyone would be available.
Redknapp has never slagged us off as such, but has said that he hated every moment of being here...negativity from a manager can be sensed and could have cost us a few points. He had a pretty good side here and any decent manager would have done better. I have always felt we should have taken Hoddle back. Still, it's not turned out bad has it...lets hope we are enjoying the game too much to care about him and that no one does anything seriously stupid.
Also the 10th? straight defeat for us! I hope it will be all talk no action much like the supposed uproar in the first game after Adkins was sacked. A little gentle ribbing but most of our vocal focus going into supporting the team to victory.
Home to QPR ... oh yes. Jermaine Wright scores before I've reached my seat and we're singing "We're going to win the league". Later the song is "1-0 and you ****ed it up" after Kelvin goes walkabout and we lose 2-1. Still one of my cold sweat games. (Year anyone? About 2006/2007?). I'm refusing to go to this one in the hope that my demons can finally be slaughtered! For my psyche Saints must win 5-0.
More sports hack previews: 9) Rancid QPR to become Route One Radicals After Queens Park Rangers were overwhelmed by Southampton at Loftus Road in November, Mark Hughes lost his job. St Mary's is a fitting place for QPR to get an unnecessary reminder that Harry Redknapp hasn't done a great job so far since replacing him. He has made their defence more solid but they are not going to amass the victories they need if they remain impotent going forward, averaging fewer goals per game under Redknapp than they did under his hapless predecessor, as well as fewer passes and far less possession. Even their proportion of successful tackles is lower under Redknapp than it was under Hughes, which almost counts as an achievement. Southampton have the spirit, system and incision that QPR lack and it seems that only another outbreak of defensive bungling could deprive the Saints of victory on Saturday. And there may be a way for Redknapp to trigger one: start Christopher Samba up front and launch the ball towards him. The Congolese has not improved QPR's defence since the club clutched him in desperation in January but could wreak havoc up front, who have already conceded seven goals in two meetings with the similarly direct Stoke and West Ham this season. Route One looks the only way for Rangers to avoid defeat at Southampton. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/mar/01/premier-league-things-to-look-out-for So hoofball it is.
This is a shame. I think the Saints fans should give Mr. Ben Haim a standing ovation. Redknapp will have heard every insult under the sun. It would be best to simply sing about what really grates him. I propose that chants of "Redknapp for England" or something along those lines might do the trick!!
If they play Samba up front then yeah, they'll cause us problems, but we'll surely tear their defence apart? Maybe we should play Rickie at centre-half
Samba is still not match fit IMO. Just noticed that QPR have picked up just 13 points from the 14 games since Arry took over. Not a great magician after all.
