For all his shortcomings, is Rafa right this time?

Discussion in 'Chelsea' started by crocarno, Feb 28, 2013.

  1. Maybe you need to support the manager? I don't mean Rafa, I mean any manager that is in charge! Show support for that man and let the owner and players that that man has your backing!

IMO, your biggest problem is your saviour! Abramovich does what he likes and why not, its his club and the sheep follow!

  2. I call him "mad dog" because (a) he is mad, and (b) he treats your club like a dog treats a bone.

I don't expect you to "join in" with calling him Mad Dog, and I don't call him that for your benefit, either to appease you or to piss you off.

Rather than have a pop at me, you (and every other Chelsea fan) ought to grow a pair, and vent your vitriol against the one person who has single-handedly made your club the laughing-stock of world football.

Believe it or not, but I have a lot of respect for CFC, you will never hear me slag-off your club; and it is because of that respect that I really do despise your Russian owner for the contempt that he is treating both you, the fans, and football, in general. I'm so glad that Spurs is owned by a face-less company, and not by a selfish, self-serving, mad man, who plays with the club like a spoilt-brat child plays with his toys.

  3. So, what you are saying, is that before Mad Dog came along CFC was a nothing club, and that only since he's owned the club has CFC been worthy of your support?

Sorry, but I do not and will never accept that.

The trouble with history in football is that it only remembers the trophies that were won; it remembers nothing of the indignities shown by owners to managers, players, fans, and to the image of football.

Glory at any cost? Nah, not for me.

No I didn't say that at all. But everyone whose hoping we turn on roman is frankly only self serving their own club.

What a load of bullshit. Worst post on this board for a while and considering all of HIAG's posts, that takes some effort.

Rafa is a big girls blouse. He has bragged, preened and bullshitted since the day he arrived. He was hired to see out the season then leave. That was the start and end of the Terms of his appointment. He is the one who said he thought he deserved to get the job full time if he did a good job. Not the Club.
If that's not an interim job then what is??? He doesn't like the title because it sounds like he has no chance of the job full time. Which is not correct.
Now, granted that's a pretty difficult position to be in. However, IF he had done the job really well ,and kept his big mouth shut, what might have happened??
Imagine if he'd kept us in the CL, if we had won the World Club Title, the QPR, West Ham, Man City games??? Do you think the fan reaction would be the same?? I sure don't. He would have won them over. He had the opportunity to do just that.
But he didn't, because of a combination of very poor tactics, terrible team selections and hopeless substitutions. Unlike AVB, there was no player revolt, no sulky performances. Players played badly because of how they were instructed to play ,and how he set up the team.
In other words he proved conclusively, over and over again that he doesn't have Managerial skills. Add to that his hopeless man management and PR skills and you have precisely what most fans predicted, and our loopy owner and Board signed off on. I have no sympathy for him, he did it all himself, and there is no way on earth the fan reaction has anything to do with his situation. That's all down to Rafa, RA, Buck, Gourley and Emanalo.

we have been singing, Roman Abramovich, Is this what you want, for weeks now.

We don't want Roman out yet.

PS Bayern have had as many managers as us in the Roman era, Real too and QPR and others more

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Real_Madrid_C.F._managers

    Maybe more 'permanent' coaches

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Bayern_Munich#Coaches_since_1963

Bayern are a fashionable 'model' at the mo; so they are stable unlike Chelsea, so the press would have us believe. They may stable at the mo (in fact they are not as they are changing managers), but they can be as much of a circus as Real

No that can't be true, Chelsea are the only club to change managers, the only club where senior members have fallen out with managers, where the club boo at the end of games where the team have performed badly and the only club to have a PR disaster every now and then.

Every other club is perfect, never spend money to help buy some success (just to help out the 'little' clubs they are buying from) and constantly filling their sides with English talent brough through their own youth system.

Newcastle is another one. We seem to be the only ones called out on it though for some reason.

Roman is no more trigger happy then a lot of clubs and cos he sets the bar so high it's hard for managers to reach it or maintain it. Maybe not the end of the world that we have an owner who wont accept 'failure'?

Can you imagine Roman giving Wenger 8 years without a trophy!?!?
