Seems this thread is now irrelevant as Vincent has no plans to rename the club. Just a bunch of media twits making as much fuss as possible and giving Jacks and hotheads the chance to go overboard. Back to the real world then .....
anyway, as taxpayers when are we going to get a return on our liberty stadium? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-14392589 signing players for £5m while sponging off the council........
whats that got 2 do with us going up as champs>>>>but yep a big well done on shipping your managers 2 other clubs...they be very impressive stat thats wins you sweet fk all
Dia (sic), by your logic if Swansea went into administration twice then they have no history, in fact less history than most clubs in the football league.
You have less history than every side in the leagues, given that the redbirds/red dragons were only formed last summer
A lot of people seem to be missing the point here. This is an ominous sign not just to Cardiff but for many other football clubs too. When does it all stop and people say enough is enough ? First there was a change in colours, now there is a possibility that a name change could be on the cards and what else could happen after that ? If this man succeeds in changing your name then what's to stop him relocating the club to wherever he likes ? Next season the Cardiff Dragons but in 5 years time it could be the Bristol Dragons. I wouldn't worry about trying to point score against our posters I'd worry about what the hell this bloke has got planned for your club and what you're all going to do to stop it.
This off the BBC Wales iplayer The Malaysian owner of Cardiff City has spoken publicly for the first time about his hopes to turn the club into a force in Asia. In an exclusive interview with BBC Wales, Vincent Tan says he will spend up to £325m on new players if the club makes it to the Premier League. Waaay too much money VT got !
Thats the problem though Dreyfus, they can't do anything about it otherwise their owner will spit his dummy out and turn his back on the club and leave the redbirds with and 80+million debt and still losing money to the tune of over 12 million in the last financial year, or they will go bust.
Ominous indeed. Imagine your more recent fans reaction if you lot became known as the Ospreys? Oh hang on.......
You seem to be missing the point Dreyfuss old boy ! there was no mention of name change in the interview now do us all a favour and go find an intervew with VT (NOT an article because anybody can write 'An Article' ) where he says he's going to change the name to anything, then pop back and see if anybody is remotely interested Cheers bud
That was copy and pasted off the iplayer you dolt ! I put it there to show how farcical the Beeb reporting can be at times
The thing is Valley that after watching his interview I think you've got him spot on when you say he will walk. No disrespect meant here but to me he did come across as a power mad little dictator. I thought he looked ridiculous dressed with his shirt on tucked in his trousers like that. Reminded me of Malaysian Simon Cowell. What was all that about, comparing Cardiff to a cinema and saying he intends to have loads of Malaysian flags flying at whatever ground they end up playing in ? Very worrying times and I can't understand any Cardiff fan putting up with this. What if I won the Euromillions, bought Cardiff made them play in all white and changed the name to Cardiff Jacks? Would that be tolerated too then ?
seems all a fuss over nothing really>>>>>>back 2 winning the league methinks ps valley tbh your cup is a ****e>>>>its got nowt on ours i tell thee .....
The guy seems to be slightly power crazed. Last time I checked you weren't a brand? Or are you now going to have a different creature on the front of your shirts depending on what Chinese year it is? Genuine question, would you rather be in the position you are now, or have had him never take over, cut your cloth accordingly and have kept the traditions of your club?
1646: FOOTBALL Cardiff owner Tan Sri Vincent Tan assures fans he is not going to change the club's name to Cardiff Dragons. He tells the club website: "I can assure all supporters that we will not be changing our name from Cardiff City, a club I am very proud to be a part of. "Our name is our identity and remains at our core. I would not want any of our supporters to be concerned that this change would be made, hoping that this personal commitment from myself removes any fears. "I believe the colour change is positive and will bring good tidings to Cardiff City. At this point of time, no decision has been made to change the club crest for the next season." off bbc sportsday live if any of you unwashed drama queens haven't read thru this whole thread on OUR forum
