Hmm, he's been awful this season so no great loss (although let's face it, an awful player could still well be one of our better players! ). His only good performance that I can remember was when he played centre back. I'd be far more worried if someone like Nacho was out.
True, he looks like his injuries have caught up with him. He was the best right back in the league when he signed for Arsenal.
Yeah, one of my arsenal mates used to rave about Sagna but he's also said he's been ****e this this season. is it fair to suggest that Jenkinson will play there instead? I hope so, I don't rate him to be honest.
Jenkinson is about as solid as Walker has been this season. Ridiculously fit and pretty quick, though still a bit young and sometimes positionally questionable. Will become our regular RB one day I would have thought. I'm more confident in him at RB than I am in Gibbs when he plays at LB.
Strange, I think Gibbs is a good player. I've not seen Jenkinson perform well yet. I know he's young, but He'd worry me if I was an arsenal fan. Sincerely hoping Gervinho and Ramsey start!!
Gibbs gives away a goal or two from a mistake in nearly every single game I've watched him in. He's rubbish.
Monreal didn't look to bad to me, quick, but whether he's as quick as Lennon and Walker remains to be seen.
He looks like a good really signing from what I've seen. - good going forward too. Which arsenal need on their left side.
I'm also dreading the nerves I'll have for this game, and trying to reason with myself to save them for the actual 90 minutes. I can only hope determination will prevail over nerves for the players. I'd play Ade, for starters because I think we look better when he's on the field. I don't know what our record has been with him vs. without, but I'm pretty sure it's considerably better with him. Gylfi vs. Holtby is a tough one. I'd rather have Gylfi on form, but would pick Holtby to avoid creating distraction and controversy. The same forwards have started the last few games, we've won them, so let's keep things the same. I'm also extremely tempted to pick Gallas, but would stick with Vertonghen and Dawson in the center for the sake of continuity as well. I've seen Sagna look horrible at times this year, I remember him being good, so I have no feelings about him being out. I agree Nacho Monreal is a good player, but believe more firmly than ever that he ought to be Taco Bell's rival in Quebec. Of course I'm prejudiced, but the tendency of Spurs to get the short end of the stick on the calls is striking. I think we haven't gotten a pen all year, which is really remarkable.
That Adebayor!! Sulking around with a miserable face not getting on with his teammates. I told you he was trouble!! lol
Sagna is a quality RB. He took a while to get over his injuries but he is still one of the most intelligent RBs in the Premier League, we will miss him. But Jenkinson is a really athletic player and a no nonsense type RB, not flamboyant or particularly skillful, but he does the simple things very well. Gibbs is better going forward than he is at LB, but Monreal is another quiet player who just does a really effective job at defending. So I'm not too worried about our full back positions. What does concern me is that our CBs in turn have looked like a bunch of lemons at times this season. I'm praying that they don't have a bad day on Sunday. We also need to learn to track back as a team when we don't have the ball, all of our MF players seem to want to attack. Other than that, I think we're in pretty good shape. If we concentrate for 90mins and turn up with the right intention from the start, then I think we'll give you a really tough game.
Arsenal's problem is glaringly obvious, why Whinger can't, or refuses, to see it, I don't have any idea. All of your midfield players are looking forward - to attack. Nobody stays at home to "mind the shop" So, when you lose the ball, there is usually nobody picking up on the danger, nobody to intercept, and consequently many times the opposition have a free run at your back four.
You might not wanna compare him to Walker at the moment mate, unless he's been poor that is, because Walker's been dire this season.
If we turn up with right intention and attitude, wait... Sorry let me rephrase. If BALE turns up with the right intention and attitude, good chances we'll be taking 3 points . All jokes aside I think it's going to be one of, if not the game of the season. It's a must win for both teams, this is by far each clubs' biggest match of the season and I hope it lives up to expectations, just hope we come out on top after the final whistle.
Spot on. They are crap without the ball. And the defence is suspect under pressure. The odd thrashing of a lesser team masks the weaknesses against any half decent side. Utd's last three games against them (starting with the 8-2) have been the most comfortable I've ever seen.
