    Evening all

Back from two weeks in the South of France a couple of hours ago...already suffering from tartelette citron deficiency.

Results while I've been away...4-0; 2-0; 2-1...suggest I should have stayed until the end of the season. Automatic promotion would have been assured.

Why are the finance people complaining about Italy? With no government to change things their economic plan will continue and the ecomony will improve as has been. I read if you take the banks and politicians away from Italian money the economy is strong as they export lots of things.

Thank you. Sorry to be a pain, but could I possibly change my order please?
Tea goes straight through me in the morning. It must be my age.

Could I have either a caramel latte or a glass of Aspach (just to keep out the cold obviously) please?

Morning all...glad to have time to catch up to all the news...

Frenchie, Menton was a delight. The first seven days offered unborken blue skies and sun and though we had a damp, chilly weekend sunny spells returned afterwards. By chance we had arrived during the Lemon Festival, three weeks of celebrating everthing to do with agrumes...lemon, oranges, grapefruit and cedrats for those like me new to the term. 120 tons of fruit attached to floats, models and decorations, street parades both by day and at night and music at several sites around town. The main carnival parade was even graced by a very good marching band based in Castleford and called the Yorkshire Volunteers. They apparently play all over the world. We enjoyed French food and wine of course (Bandol rose being a favourite of mine) and walked around Cap Martin and across the border into Italy. We had a day in Monte Carlo and did a tour of the Casino which was stunningly refurbished a year or two ago...well worth a visit. The tables were not yet in play so no temptation to lose my shirt! Great tip about the botanic garden, Frenchie...a delightful spot. I also know a little more about Jean Cocteau now and also the spot where Yeats where breathed his last. Strange to think that so many of the early British visitors were TB sufferers. And now...the gradual readjustment to the English countryside...
