The new tyres make the cars half a second quicker. I'm sure the illegal engine maps contributed as well.
Nah Renault asked if it was possible, no reports or evidence of them actually being used though, all assumptions with no actual proof by the looks of it Forza. Storm in a teacup.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/21606530 Lotus say they used it but no actual gains, still no actual evidence to suggest RBR even touched it since they just put their names into the hat hoping for a reaction.
If its a Renault design I cant believe that Red Bull will not have been consulted or involved in the designs etc... RB is the works team and there not going to be an after thought to Lotus so to suggest that they have not run it at all in testing is crazy. Whether it as effective as everyone thinks is a different matter and as Lotus suggest they have found little benefit as of yet. That doesnt mean that RB (Newey) havent found a second per lap using it and even if they havent, it doesnt take into account what they may gain through development in a few races time?
Here's a thought, Lotus want a RBR mapping, but they cant have it because they're not allowed to change it. Seems more of Lotus' problem than a RBR one who already had it last year and don't need to change.
And if I remember correctly Lotus and other Renault partners were not very happy with them holding out and giving secret mappings to RBR but nobody else before that rule came in during Hockenheim.
According to the Circuit de Catalunya, the driver schedule for the final test is:

Team 28th February 1st March 2nd March 3rd March

Red Bull Webber Vettel Webber Vettel

Ferrari Massa Alonso Massa Alonso

McLaren Perez Button Perez Button

Lotus Grosjean Grosjean Raikkonen Raikkonen

Mercedes Hamilton Rosberg Hamilton Rosberg

Sauber Gutierrez Hulkenburg Gutierrez Hulkenburg

Force India Di Resta ? ? ?

Williams Bottas Bottas Maldonado Maldonado

Toro Rosso Vergne Ricciardo Vergne Ricciardo

Caterham Pic van der Garde van der Garde Pic

Marussia Razia Razia (am) Chilton (pm) Chilton Chilton (am) Razia (pm)

First of all Red Bull have changed their programme so that Webber gets day one and three, rather than day one and two. Also Di Resta will be driving for Force India on the first day but it's not clear who will be driving after that - so Bild were wrong when they said Sutil will be driving on Thursday. It's great to see Chilton and Razia getting an equal amount of time in the car after Chilton had all four days at the last test. How considerate!
so RBR have changed their drivers days around so Webber doesn't get 2 days of rain, sort of shuts up the 'boo hoo, poor Webber getting shafted by his team' posse.
Word was Razia's sponsors hadn't paid up which is why he didn't drive. Can only assume it's all resolved now so he will get some car time. Why the downer on another British driver!? The hate towards Chilton and di Resta is becoming sad across this forum.
Does anybody other than me have a slight feeling Sauber are going to be as fast as a squirrel with fiery balls in Oz?
Looks like Mercedes has changed it's coanda effect slightly, just looks more aggressive now around the bottom of the sidepods. please log in to view this image
