No doubt the opposition will bring their scouts and nick them from under our noses. We don't seem to be able to compete. Shame because they're obviously doing a great job.
Junior bindippers will be full of Brazilians,Portuguese and Spanish etc Junior vermin full of EY talent.
I'm now slightly concerned, as it's a City youth coach that said we'd not made the last eight before.
Don't have to have a link. Both opposition teams have better facilities than at the Ideal Standard ground. And if Liverpool want them they'll go.
Sorry OLM my mistake. I was only 11 at that time!!! For those interested the Liverpool Vs Leeds game is on Liverpool TV free on Sky tomorrow night.
I'll let you off this once... I was going tonight but got some grief from the missus who'd done a roast, but I wish I'd gone anyway now. I'll check out the game on Sky tomorrow and I'll definitely be at the KC for the next game.
Most clubs in the top 2 divisions have better youth set ups than ours. How many LFC youngsters have they brought through from their youth set up in the last ten years?
Awful attitude. Players have to start somewhere. If they had that attitude then there would be no point in them continuing.
pound for pound, at £4 one of the best value games i ve seen city involved in for some time. end-to-end throughout. leicester good going forward and more flamboyant than city, playing with two wide men all the game. a ringer for neil danns up front looked sharp and the number 10 was always a thorn. dont know his name but look out for him. however city repelled most of what was thrown at them, and where they didnt, cracknell swept up well behind. city defense dogged and brilliantly marshalled by max clark in the centre. i was amazed to see him there as i ve always seen him at left back. midfield were always up against it but did very well supporting our rear guard. before anyone calls for harry cardwell to be given a chance in first team, his two goals were excellent finishes but he is a kid and probably one for the future! 1) Joe Cracknell - solid game apart from a massive rick for their goal 2) Sam Topliss - part of a 4 man defense that repelled all leicester had to throw at them. could have scored when he controlled a brilliant 60 yard cross field ball from clark to put him one-on-one with the keeper. 3) Tom Davie - strong full back who missed nothing in the air and supported well going forward on occasions. 4) Brad Ricketts - worked hard throughout up against a more physical leicester midfield. city's tactics by-passed midfield going forward for most of the game on a difficult pitch 5) Ben Clappison - awesome alongside clark and missed nothing till injured/ran out of steam in extra time 6) Max Clark - i ve said it all. my MoM 7) Ryan Fallowfield -worked hard to contain the stronger opposition midfield (see Brad Ricketts). 8) Eoghan McCawl - once again, part of our hard working midfield unit 9) Danny Chambers -always a problem for the leicester defense till he twisted an ankle just before half time. you could see he had been patched at the interval and did well to continue for the whole game at less than 100%, slight deflection for his goal (i think), but a great strike all the same 10) Joel Sutton - supported Chambers well and could well have scored on more than one occasion. 11) Matty Dixon - a great skipper and never shirks a tackle. great all round performance organising the midfield unit. 17) or 15) Sam O'Connor - a big strong unit who added a lot of strength to our forward line when legs started to go around the pitch. great ball through for Cardwell's first (i think) 15) or 17) Jack Barlow - some nice touches in his cameo. did everything that was required. can't remember number) Harry Cardwell - made the most of a flagging leicester defense but two cracking finishes. the second was special. well done to city youth squad who deserved the victory despite being on the back foot whenever leicester attacked, but in truth our defensive qualities shone and limited the opposition to scraps on the whole. I believe that leeds are top of the elite youth league, and liverpool are 'quite good' also. round 6 will be interesting (all the views are mine)
