We've gone to far the other way, we catch actual terrorists, try and ship them back to whence they came and our courts say we're not allowed to, as it contravenes European Human Rights Law. Meanwhile, everyone else in Europe facing the same circumstances, simply stick them on the first available plane.

I'm about to go home for a roast chicken dinner, to be honest, I find the idea more appealing than building a barn. <laugh>

not entirely true - blair's government passed anti-terrorist laws and then these laws were used against everyone (eg football fans, photographers, etc) except terrorists by our corrupt and immoral police.

This must not be allowed to continue. It is intolerable that those with no tickets should be able to
blackmail their way into a ground. "If you don't let us in we'll force the gates or wreck your town", is not a
threat to which a police force should submit. The policy of admitting such people is also unfair to those who
have taken the trouble and spent money to buy tickets. It further involves, at a capacity match, letting in fans
for whom there may be insufficient space. It may also create problems of segregation. Above all, it is allowing
    the mob to rule.

Who was talking about forcing their way into the ground? You dont have the right to buy a ticket but you have the right to go to a town if you feel like it. I got no problem with them limiting us to 1,500 tickets. I got no problem if Huddersfield limited us to 0 tickets. That is their right to refuse service as all business do. No one gets to force their way into the grounds. If people engage in activities like rioting then that is a crime and they can be arrested. You can also be arrested for trying to incite a riot. No one is saying that the police have to submit to people rioting, but they dont get to stop you from engaging in behavior protected by your citizenship. If the police have evidence that people are planning on rioting like they claim then those people can be arrested, right now. You dont have to wait for them to riot. All they are doing is infringing on law bidding peoples rights.

I can hear what you are saying but I must point out that the post you are replying to is a quote from a government report and is the starting point of police thinking. This combined with other laws they have gives them the means and tools to do as they please with full government backing. The measures they are proposing are not actually illegal.

They pass laws all the time here that are unconstitutional. We call those laws illegal, its just a phrase, proper term would be unconstitutional. And the second they try to enforce those laws they go to the courts and the courts toss those laws out.

From reading on the net you all do not seem to have the right to assemble. It seems that your bill of rights did not include it and it is considered a residual right which everyone has the right to exercise provided there is no breach of the law. It seems that since it is not in your version of the bill of rights that you have no standing to claim you have a right to form in groups of people. Your Public Order Act 1986 seems to infringe quite a bit on your "residual" right to assemble.

I had assumed you had the right to assemble in the first place which I guess you dont have. Seems crazy to me that you dont have that.

    Ellewoods,
This has been an interesting discussion you guys have been having - fascinating the differences between the "charters" of constitutional rights between what US and British citizens are entitled to, and how they can be politically perverted.
On a tongue-in-cheek note, how many Hull City fans could you assemble in the barn you erected yesterday ( hope it was successful by the way) ? If you installed a big-screen TV therein, toss in a free bar, you might be able to save the West Yorks Police a few precious bucks !!
Just don't invite Charlton Heston to the screening, he may be a Huddersfield Town fan !!

Seriously though - it was a good discussion..didn't see too many Leicester fans contributing mind !!

Probably only 50 or so, it was pretty small. I think Heston is dead but we could invite Tom Selleck as he lives somewhere it town apparently.

Forget Selleck, invite Harold Wilson's statue...he was a 'Udders supporter...but even his statue would create some fireworks....

We're now allowed to travel to Hartshead Moor services on our own.

Plus our allocation is now 1700.

**** me, we've really pulled it out the bag here haven't we? What a result.
