Best player on pitch for ressies match v Mancs on Monday.Outshone Shelvey ,Suso,Sterling,Wisdom et al

Must be close to 1st team squad IMO, I personally think hes overtaken Suso in the pecking order,Suso tends to drift out of game, he doesnt.Texeira is a 10 or a CM where Suso is a 10 or a wide player

i think he's recovering where he was before that back injury.

I think suso has been with us so long he's missed out on some things that lisbon gave teixeria maybe. I think suso needs a loan... to spain....

he's got a big chance no question. very exciting player against us and i am eagerly waiting to see him for us...

What I like in this , is on numerous times in this VT he gets the ball in quite a bad position under pressure, but always comes out with the ball.Stronger than Suso and less wasteful, and quite steely in the tackle

    Cheers for the link.

Def feel that at 20 he should be given a go in starting XI, certainly as Suso has had a chance. Shame we don't have any other competitions left this season though, just prem games so probs won't see him until pre-season of next season

Really hope he can step up, he looks a very good player do we put our hopes on players like him or look to buy?

To be fair to Suso in the match against Utd u21, he did say he was ill before the match.

I still think Suso is a top quality youngster, but he needs to be playing more in a central role.

I agree re. Teixerira in that he's another top prospect and hopefully we can keep him fit. As you said, he is a clever player who is able to receive the ball in tight situations but still keep it and move it on. We need more players like that if we want to implement Rodgers's philosophy successfully. In the first team, I notice that some players take the easy option and pass to a man in acres of space. If we want to create space and work the ball, then certain players must be confident enough to receive the ball in tight spaces and draw 2-3 players out of position.

Joao had a serious back injury whilst at Lisbon but we still paid around €1m for him which shows you how highly rated the lad is.

    think about it like this

    ward
    mclaughlin sama Wisdom pelosi
    coady teixteria
    coutinho suso sterling
    morgan

I eman ok there are some guys who've got debuts there but i'm not even putting trickett, dunn, rodden, n'goo, ibe, sinlcair on there.. there has got to be a few more first team players i nthat list.

and thus we come to the issue with out loan policy. 90% of loanees are sold. We need to see a more stratiegic approach to loans

teixteria had a bad injury so needs to progress quickly from here.

What was Sterling doing on the pitch! He is a first team player now. He needs resting at many chances.

in fairness a few weeks away form the crowds and pressure is what's needed for sterling. he's not played recently and looked introverted and scared v zenit.

I think his confidence has taken a pounding.... and the man who did it in rodgers is on the lfc site talking nurturing so go figure.

Im having doubts about Suso ever making it to be honest, could well be another Dani Pacheco. I have only seen Teixeira play a couple of times but he does look impressive...... in the under 21 league.

  12. Similarly, I have doubts too. I'm convinced that Suso was one of the players BR was referring to when questioning players mental states <ok>

suso's game is dfferent to pacheco's but i think the kid needs to continue to work hard and gain experience in spain. he's not ready for the prem and it showed. He is twofooted and really skilful.

Suso has the skill to make it. Hasn't disappointed when played with other first team players like Suarez and Stevie. Perhaps only against Stoke.

I agree. I think he has been very good whenever he plays bar the odd performance.

Personally, I rather see Suso as the AM ahead of Shelvey but Rodgers doesn't want to take that chance for some reason. And it doesn't help when Suso is often asked to play on the wings.

I still think he's one of the best youngsters we have - he has the knack of keeping the ball despite having 3 defenders around him. That's a special quality that not many people possess.

hopefully see 20 mins or so from him if in a good position to.

sort of game to bring him in to, as it will mainly be a passing game, not hoof style.

Suspect it will be Suso, but I think Teixeira deserves the nod, on form playin miles better. I suspect Suso possibly pretended to be ill the other night to excuse his really poor performance v United in the 21s, also heard Skrtel is still out

    Also , wheres Chris.............

the issue has to be..... just how many small technical players do we need. coutinho has no10 shirt... suso and teixteria are the same sort really... this is the issue we are very well served in POTENTIAL so i think one needs to go on loan to spain and one needs to be looked at to see if they are really ready...
