2 signings would make a big difference, look at it this way. (Bit of fantasy football) but you get the point hopefully.

-------------Reina------------
Johnson-Kompany-Agger-Enricky
-------------Lucas-----------
-------Hendo------Gerrard----
------Suarez--------Bale
-------------Sturridge---------

Looks ok imo and we then have good cover in Sterling, Coutinho, Allen, Kelly etc

I understand the option of bringing more in but I also think we need to be careful as we don't have the money to go nuts in the transfer market.

2. Fair enough. Not sure about the 'lot of love', I think it is just me but it is tongue-in-cheek too <laugh>

3. In simple terms, you think we need two big signings that will have an immediate impact?

Two big signings to make an immediate impact are going to cost what?
30/35 million?
If and it’s a big IF, we can do this then I agree. Not sure we are going to do that though

7. Pretty much my thoughts.

I'd rather we went out and signed one or two marquee players but I don't think we have that sort of budget <ok>

Yes, other than 4 hopefully, maybe signings that may or may not turn out good.

If the 'City' funds came, I wouldn’t imagine any of the players below being even close to our first team (obviously not accounting for any possible favouritism on BR's part…)

Coates
Allen
Borini
Shelvey
Downing
Enrique
Carroll
**Enrique come good when playing further up the pitch but not good enough to warrant still being in a mega bucks side.

I think Hendo deserves to be around the hypothetical team still, but not a first team player yet. Even City have a work horse, no ego type player in Milner... they are needed in all sides

12. Agreed. Players for the now but with a future still. Someone like (and I don't mean we should sign these) Eriksen or Isco, they are young with years to improve before reaching their peak but with the quality to improve the side now.

I don't agree with Enrique, on his day he's the best LB in the league, he's just not consistent enough to be classed in that category. In the PL, I think only Baines and Cole are quite clearly consistently better. City have Clichy at LB, and they actually have 'City funds'.

I wish he would be quicker going forward - more free flowing. He seems to stop and turn on the ball too much... take a player on, then turn back to them and take them on again! But he is strong when on the ball and rarely gets it taken off him. Depends what you want from a left back I suppose

IMO we need

1. A CB with pace ( so we can play high, press high ), who is f**king nails, technique not too important Agger is the technique CB
2. A Striker, so when we lose DS/LS we still look like we could score goals, be nice if he could play 10 also. Jovetic IMO would be perfect,Gameiro good
3. A TOP winger, if LS stays it looks like he will play 10 not wide, imo we need a really good winger who still start every big game, who is a player 4 now not for in 2 yrs ( like Coutinho Sterling). Feghouli,Gaitan,Rodriguez would be cool
4. A DM in the Capoue,Diame,Wanyama mould , 6ft +
5. A Back up CB, under 23yo, be nice is one of the CBs can play LB also

Offloading Carroll,Spearing,Downing,Coates,Skrtel,Assaidi would pull in £30 + and would go a long way to funding the above signings
