The Hellenic League Premier Division. Queens? I have watched a FA Vase game featuring 2 teams from that league. 4-2 it finished and it could have finished 10-10.

Found SARS the worst (a load of toffs around me who were a bunch of pissheads) and the best the Paddocks and Ellerslie.

I need to be somewhere where I can stand. I don't regard myself as especially tall, but I simply can not sit in most of the seats at LR. Standing next to Stan is ideal. Strangely enough in Nines seats in family stand there is more leg room, how typically QPR to give leg room to the kids.

I love to sit in z6 there are three seats there on their own and if I get them then I stand usually a sky bloke is there . I also like to have a few chops with the away fans

I would be very interested if anyone wanted to form a syndicate for a box or a collection of good seats

I was talking about the physical space, maybe I got the wrong end of the stick. But last game the fat twat sat opposite me was a total tool for a good twenty minutes.

I do sympathise about the pissheads turning up late, peeing mid half, leaving early at HT and then coming back late again. They do it in my row too and don't do it as a group either.

Yes Flyer, legroom at LR is awful especially at the School End Upper Tier (had to stand, my knees were nearly up to my chin).

Col, Didcot Town now play in the Southern League Division One South & West. What year did you play for them and did you score any goals? You've kept this very quiet indeed.

I think they also restructured some of the leagues over the last few years due to falling numbers in players & spectators.

I know some of the worst affected were where players paid to play; like in the SAL (Banks League) & the Old Boys Leagues.
I played a few games in both these leagues for fun and some great blokes playing but the cost was tearing them apart. loads were leaving and kids not coming through. I played in a few other leagues where it wasnt quite as bad but getting young kids to give up Saturdays & train in the week can be a nightmare. especially when they have so many other distractions.
You'll always get the dedicated ones (like cols son) but the numbers are dramatically falling and its a shame. At least thats one good thing about being out here, you dont have to force kids into sport its part of thier natural lifestyle...Still not gonna let my kids wear the "green & gold" though...!

Anyway enough "dad-speak"! What position did you play Col?

They do indeed mate. They got promotion a while back, after moving to a new, improved ground.
I don't like giving too much personal info out on the net, but suffice to say that I played for them in the Hellenic Premier, in their old ground. But even then, back in the 70s and 80s, we were paid "expenses" and "win bonuses" and it was considered a good feeder for the Southern League.
My lad is now involved in their youth set up, so hopefully he will be able to continue the tradition.

    Will I stay?

At the end of every season, I consider that and ask myself is it all worth the expense.

Every year I come to the same conclusion.

I'm not a glory hunter fan. QPR means more to me than the glory of being in the Premier League.

The answer to the question therefore is, yes, of course I will stay.

In time, the disappointment of this season will pass.

    Onwards and upwards.

Goes without saying....and it would mean the chance to actually pick up a ticket on match days when over in UK, won't have to keep checking if matches have been shunted to sunday or monday so travel arrangements can be booked in confidence....whats not to like?

If we do well, we will be on TV more than the PL. There was a time we went about 4 months without a 3pm home game in the NPC the last time we were there.

Absolutely right. Let's get the facts straight:

In our two seasons in League 2, we averaged just over 14,000, although we were either challenging for, or winning, promotion. In the 5 Championship years to 2008/9, when we were NOT challenging for promotion, we averaged marginally more than that figure.

Of course, our two seasons in the Premier League has attracted new fans and I think there will be a "legacy" in that some of them will stick with us.

On this basis, I predict crowds in the Championship of 14,000+ i.e. threequarters full rather than threequarters empty! And, yes, I will be one of them.
