Wenger will probably go with Ramsey and Arteta, and put Cazorla out wide. This is our more 'defensive' approach, which I don't like much as Cazorla's best role is in the middle, he's usually been ineffective out wide.
He started out wide in 2 of the last 3 league games, and has 3 goals to his name from those. Ineffective is the wrong word, I would say.
He was useless against Bayern. His second goal on Saturday came from middle. Where he should be. Even same against Sunderland.
Where's your match fred Cym mate ? You said you were going to do one this week Is it finished yet ? I can't wait to see it
I'll be having this on Both Teams to Score and Bale any time every day of the week. Massive for both but even bigger for Arsenal.
Must not lose. 4 points with 10 games left and a more favourable run in isn't irretrievable but I think 7 points would be too much. If Spurs win, I think they'll get top 4 and then the rest is up to how Chelsea do as they have 5 very winnable fixtures in a row. Ches, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Walcott, Podolski, Cazorla. As crazy as it sounds, I'd play Cazorla out wide, we kind of interchanged with Mata and Hazard there and despite Walker's incredible pace he was way out of his depth and Hazard/Mata were simply too intelligent/good for him. Cazorla could maybe have the same impact in that position. It's a very attacking line up but Arsenal may as well go for it, concede early like you did against us and Spurs will run riot IMO. They are playing with much more confidence than we were and will go the full throttle.
I would only show SJW10 up by making another fred because my fred would be much more better than the fred what he has made
as I've said on our board. - Dreading it. It's just to difficult to call what's going to happen. Previous results mean nothing, form means nothing, and recent fixtures between the two clubs mean nothing. It's a cup final and anything can happen. There will be goals, that's for sure. Your biggest threat will be walcott, IMO. He always gives Benny a tough time. However, counteracting that, we have Lennon and Walker down the right, who will give you all sorts of problems. - Especially as you don't really have anyone on your left hand side who can expose us with pace. - Unless there's something I havent seen from Monreal yet?! I think the midfield will be very evenly matched, unless of course you play Ramsey. Sorry lads, but he'll be the weak link. Time and time again I watch him and wonder how he plays for a top club. Cazorla and wilshere could be an issue for Parker and Dembele, but I see holtby getting in the mix to help out with that one. But then there's Bale.... There doesn't seem to be an answer as to how one deals with him.
The question is what will spurs do with bale, if he is given the free role that he has been playing recently this will effectively give us an extra man in midfield, I'm sure this has not been lost on AVB. When we have had an extra man in the middle we have always dominated teams. SAF always packs the midfield against us and is the reason they have such a good record against us. If we dominate possession the spurs fans will not be happy as it's a home game, if holtby drifts in from the left it will leave walcott one on one with ekotto. So do spurs give us the midfield advantage and relay on us not converting our possession into goals and hope bale continues to produce last minute stunners, or will they change to suit us? We will just have to wait and see.
Damn that is a good point. I think Bale is hard working enough to be our third cm, but Holtby drifting and giving benny a job vs sagna and walcott does not bear thinking about. As poor as he has been, I think Ade needs to have a good game - and Verm/Kosh/Mert are a good place to start. If we start the way we did last time, we could bully you. But then as soon as Ade went off, you were all over us and our confidence evaporated. Ahhhh....I just can't call it! (great original post by the way. very balanced)
@A87 I do wish you would read my entire posts before you reply to me. I find it tedious to correct you! I'll clarify it for you though this time. I said that Diaby is the only midfield player we have who has the pace to help double up on Bale. That is the FIRST sentence of FOUR sentences about Diaby. The following 3 sentences say that Diaby isn't available, his current fitness isn't good enough and that he only seems to last 60 odd minutes this season due to his injury problems. I then finish up on the Diaby topic by stating my desire to have a fit Diaby in the team. I think it's fairly obvious that i'm saying if we had a fully fit Diaby, he has the attributes required for the job of doubling up on Bale. But that clearly he isn't in the form/fitness that we would need him in to actually use him. If anything my comments highlight the need for another player of this type, which would be along the same lines as many, many other fans. I'm not entirely sure what there is to disagree with!
It will be interesting to see what role Blae is given. That's a good analysis enigma @Roo - Ramsey has actually been performing very well over his last 5 or 6 games. I know he has had his problems, but credit where credit is due, at the moment he has shown some good form. He does have his weaknesses though and compared to Arteta/Wilshere/Cazorla/Rosicky who are some of the best midfield players in the league, he is obviously our weaker option. But he is very hard working and battles for the ball, which helps to control the midfield, he just needs to play it on quicker. I'd tell Ramsey to keep up how he is playing but get the ball to Cazorla or Wilshere quicker
