At the same age. I'm not so sure that's true but Bale's rapid increase in form is ominously reminiscent of Ronaldo although I think he was a year or two younger when he really started become unplayable on a regulare basis.

 

He also scored more goals, and more simple goals. That's the amazing thing about Messi and Ronaldo, the amount easy goals they get with just their movement is as good as any classic 9 type forward.

I always thought that criticism was harsh, he influenced a lot of games but he was always targeted for "special treatment" in tackles and got double marked. Like Mourinho, I hated him in England though
