You didn't beat Zenit. You lost on aggregate so Suarez made **** all difference to the result. Do you really think Suarez was the reason you won against Swansea, Sunderland, QPR and Wigan? Games your entire team pretty much dominated?! If he was world class he'd have stepped up in the games you were struggling to win, not just the ones you dominated.

    I'll give you Mansfield ;)

    This.

Completely agree that Suarez is the most skilful player in the PL, tho' Bale is more effective at dribbling with pace. But not, in my opinion, the most effective.

Since when did Bale enter the race? Didnt realise he passed Michu....

Anyway, rvp plays for a better team at top of the league, takes penalties and free kicks yet only has 1 more goal than Suarez...

We beat Zenit 3-1 with 2 goals from Suarez. Just because we lost the tie on away goals rule does not negate the fact we won the game. Suarez does not decide the rules or where and when the fixtures are played. Neither is he responsible for defensive errors or tieing Jamie Carragher's boots.

If you want to talk about the best team, then just look at the table. If you want to talk about players then this "affect the result" criterion is meaningless. If we dominate the game then apparently we didn't need him... If he scores but the defence lets us down, then he was rubbish by association...

  4. Suarez got two or three assists (?) to Kuyt's hat-trick against Man Utd and he was the difference in that game

Two assists. The other one came from Nani's header. Doesn't count though as our entire team was dominating the game <ok>

Suarez scored the best hat-trick I have ever seen against us last season and then scored another (albeit less brillaint) one again this year. For Norwich fans Suarez is the Devil's agent. The second best individual performance against us that year was Bale scoring both Spurs goals. Absolutley unplayable on the night. I have never seen RvP excel in the flesh but IMO he is the reason Utd will stroll to the title this season. All three are amazingly good players and who is "best" will be down to form - currently you'd take Bale but at other points in the season you would have one of the others. It would be interesting to see how well either Bale or Suarez would do in a team capable of challenging for the titile. I would not be shocked to see this happen next season as I can see him as Giggs's heir apparent. If he did the rest may as well not turn up next season.

If you want to put this player comparison in the context of the player of the year award, then Suarez is the only one of the three to have won a trophy, exactly 12 months ago this day (with an assist for Skrtel's goal) <ok>

Saurez has the most talent. Van Persie has the intelligence and Bale is superior physically.

Fabio is better than all 3 combined.

    RvP

    /end thread close forum...

Suarez though.... better than RvP....... you would have to seriously mental to think that. You would be lucky to escape punch free just for suggesting Bale but Suarez takes the piss. Suarez is having what I would call a Darren season. Darren huckabee, Darren bent, Darren anderton.... remember when the had great seasons?

Nah I just refuse to acknowledge a player in a team sitting wherever you are in the league to be better than the best player at the best side by a ****ing mile.

RvP is the stand out player of the stand out team, to question if someone else is better is just daft really.

Comparing Suarez to the Darren's was a slight wum tbh...... but its not far from the truth really.

  13. So you can't have a better player in a **** side? By that comment, you agree to TalkSports theory of Gareth Bale can't be world class until he moves to a top club <doh>

And no, I don't think Suarez is the best player!

You can if no players in the top sides are doing the biz. Thing is RvP is doing the biz... better than everyone.

Spurs are a top side as well, the league proves it.

Bale is doing well, but he's just on a good run of form at the moment. I doubt he'll be near Suarez & Van Persie in terms of goals by the end of the season.

Bale is lucky though that he's hit form at the exat time the awards are being voted for, so he's got a big chance of getting the individual awards at the end of the season.

This is both illogical & moronic. So if Messi played for Aston Villa who leaked just as many goals as they do now RVP would be the better player because he was handed half the goals he scored on a plate by his top class team mates and his team was higher up the league? Idiotic.

For all the superior talent/support around RVP he has managed a huge total of one more goal than Suarez in the league...truly a god among men obviously.

You could argue Suarez is the better player because he's producing the same product, in the same league, inspite of his team mates lack of ability comparatively speaking.

Its why "player of the year" is pointless. A donkey centre forward on 10k a week who's 10 goals in a season guarantee his clubs league survival? they'd rate their player higher than watching the 200k a week player who tops the goals table while playing for the team that tops the league.

    It makes perfect sense.

One player stands out above the best side in the league, the other stands out above some absolute ****e.

Simple really. Its not like RvP is just a little better than the rest if our players, he's head and shoulders above.

United wouldn't be where we are if we swapped suarez for rvp. Liverpool would be top4 with rvp instead of Suarez.
