Why don't we just clean up Danny Fox a bit, give him a shave, put a floppy blonde wig on him etc, and see if we can't pass him off as Luke when Chelsea's money men roll into town? If they're not fooled by that, then we can tell them that they can have Fox anyway for the knock-down price of a 24-pack of Stella and the Game of Thrones DVD box-set.

Am i wrong in saying that Luke still hasn't signed a full professional contract and there was a big announcement a few months ago about him agreeing in principle to sign one this summer. Untill its signed surely there is a possibility of him leaving if he wanted to.

 

He can't sign a contract in his own right until he is eighteen...his pro-contract had to be countersigned by a parent. However, he has shown no signs of wanting to move and I believe his parents have said that SFC is the best place for him. At the end of the January window, he posted a cheeky twitter saying, 'Still here, lol.'

Shaw signed a 3 year contract when he turned 17, he can't sign a longer contract until he is 18

 

Unless the player himself expresses a desire to leave the club they wont sell him and he wont want to leave in my opinion.

Carroll was 35mill so on that basis Shaw should cost around 150mill!

 

Let's not start using Carroll as a benchmark for player values. He's an extreme outlier because the Liverpool board have the combined IQ of a golden retriever. At this moment, Shaw is probably going to be worth about £10m to other clubs, because while he's started extremely well, they know they aren't guaranteed a future world class defender. Obviously he's worth more to us, but if a bid closer to £20m came in, I wouldn't blame Cortese for considering it.
