Been quiet lately.... Does this prove beyond doubt that Suarez is the better player? http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/suarez-v-bale-v-rvp-opta-comparison If anyone wants to add the tables then feel free as I have no idea how to do that.
Stats rarely prove anything - all they do is show you what you often knew all along anyway. Just like these ones - they show Suarez is less accurate at shooting, makes fewer but more accurate crosses, wins fewer duels in the ground and air, gets fouled and commits fouls more often and gets more bookings. Whether that shows he is better or worse than the other two is all a matter of opinion. For the sake of a bit of debate (and you lot all kicking off again) I still think RVP and Bale have both been better than Suarez this season. Not cos of stats or goals or successful cross percentage or any of that ****, but simply cos of the respective contribution of the players at vital times in important matches. Just look at the last matches - Spurs 2-2 against West Ham, vital game needing to win to maintain a top four challenge, up pops Bale with a 40 yard goal to win the match. Liverpool 3-3 aggregate against Zenit, desperately needing a goal to stay in Europe, up pops Suarez to argue with the ref and stamp on an opponent. I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure Suarez has earned more yellow cards in the last ten minutes of matches this season than he has scored goals. And most of those cards have been in the games you needed him to perform to get a result - the draw against City, losses to Villa and West Brom, and lucky to escape without punishment late on against Everton and Zenit. Just like Rooney a few years back, as long as Suarez is losing his cool at crucial points he can't be considered alongside the top players.
Dalglish: Suarez better than RVP right now http://www.foxsportsasia.com/football/fa-cup/news/detail/item916633/
i do hope after reading that bollocks you have never considered Rooney world class swarbs. pointlessness discussion anyway, it will be Spurs happy with Bale, utd happy with RVP and we happy with Suarez, always going to pick our own players. not sure what yellow cards proves either, Bale has deserved many a yellow but has never got one, Suarez hasn't deserved them some times but gets one. mr i cant tackle for ****e Scholes never got booked for dirty tackles as it was ah bless poor old scholes didn't mean it, but he cant tackle crap, yellow cards as well as reds are pointless anyway as it just shows who got them, not if they should have or got lucky not to as i have pointed out.
I agree the OP should stop **** stirring and understand that the board can just be quiet at times. Forcing pointless threads comparing players is just childish, what next Scholes v Gerrard?
Any other fans visiting the Liverpool board to see this are going to say anyone but Suarez. Shogs will say RvP to fit in line with the Everton - Man Utd friendship too
Suarez is a far better footballer than RVP in almost every aspect of the game. The only edge I would give RVP would be finishing and RVP is a number 9 and a poacher, Suarez is not.
To be perfectly honest I'd have RVP, then Suarez, then Bale. All three are fantastic, but very different. Entirely different in the case of Bale. Whilst Suarez is arguably the best footballer in terms of ability, vision, guile - RVP is more effective, and Bale is winning games by himself right now.
1. RVP is top of the league. 2. bale is not assisting as there's nobody i the box to lump it at... he's only dribbling and shooting. 3. suarez is a cheating git according to all non lfc fans so no stats will ever change that. but really bale and suarez are not comparable as they play different roles...... simplae as that... plus bale is going to real for 50mil this summer.
Course not. The fact he scored 34 goals in a season, won the PFA and FWA awards, came 5th in the Ballon d'Or behind only Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi and Iniesta and was named in the World XI just shows how far he is from ever having been world class. And you talk about not **** stirring Personally I'd be happy with any of them. RVP and Bale are so close this season as to be hard to separate - RVP is more accomplished and experienced with lethal finishing, but Bale is an outstanding match winner. It's arguably akin to the Pele / Maradona comparison in terms of the type of player - RVP scores for fun with the right support, but Bale pulls off outstanding performances and lifts his team up to levels they almost certainly couldn't achieve without him. Suarez has also been fantastic, but be honest do you really think Liverpool would be far worse off without him that Utd would be without RVP or Spurs without Bale? RVP has turned Utd into runaway leaders and Bale has made Spurs into solid top four contenders. But Liverpool are no better this season than they were last season when Suarez was nowhere near as effective. Ask yourself three simple questions: 1. Do you think Utd could build a massive lead over City and compete with Real without RVP? 2. Do you think Spurs could reach 3rd in the PL and have a chance against Inter without Bale? 3. Do you think Liverpool could reach 8th in the PL and go out of all cup competitions without Suarez?
I believe Suarez has more goals, assists, tackles, recoveries than Bale this season. As a result, I would rate him higher than Bale. I think it should be between RVP and Suarez for player of the year.
Robin van Persie could score in a convent, would love to have a player like him at my club. I'd take any of them but someone like RvP would be scoring every 5 minutes in our league
It is true that Man Utd have a big lead and that RvP has helped but it is more because everyone else has been ****. I also think Man Utd have a better squad to be able to deal with losing a player such as RvP, you have Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck as backup! Has RvP made you guys twelve points better than everyone else? Simply put, no! As for Real, lets wait and see... Tottenham would clearly suffer without Bale. They would be no where near third without him. Without Suarez, we'd still be in the top half but we wouldn't be in with an outside sniff of fifth place this season! (not something I think we will get) Personally, I don't think any of this has an impact on the rating of their abilities. Its a bit like the ridiculous scenario we heard earlier this week about Bale not being a world class player until he joins a top club #completebollox
yes, you have plenty of other strikers who would step up no, Ade and Defoe don't add much to their attack, if bale isn't performing Spurs are generally crap. 8th? half way through a season, strange argument, what if we finish 6th or even 5th? that would be more than likely down to Suarez of all people, not bad for a team with one striker. so basically you being a manc have given all the reasons you can as to why you would take other players over a Liverpool player, bit predictable wasn't it!
