"They are things which go beyond football analysis, because, to walk away from the game, which is something Mbia has done, is unexplainable." The Harry Redknapp factor could help QPR avoid relegation this season, according to Gary Neville . But Neville does not think QPR are certain to be relegated and the former England international and ex-United defender is in no doubt about the importance of this weekend's game at Southampton, who sit 16th in the table and 10 points above their next visitors. Neville reckons the factors in QPR's favour are the presence of manager Redknapp, who steered Portsmouth to safety in 2005/06 when they had been eight points from survival with 11 games remaining, and a favourable fixture list for the rest of the season. After Southampton, QPR also still have fellow strugglers Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic and Reading to play before May and wins in those matches could let them potentially climb out of the relegation zone. "When I see the things that are happening (against United), it is not what I think of in the Premier League - fighting to get into challenges and getting across the sides," said Neville. "But I sense that, two or three months out, this thought is going deeper into the back of this thick skull that QPR still could, and may, get out of it (relegation). Hope DT doesn't see this, he thinks Bosingwa walks on water and yet, here is another observer seeing him for what he is. I'll have to watch again to see about Mbia, although he certainly didn't cover himself in glory with his challenge either imo.
I don't think he walks on water and apologized when he walked out etc I do however think he is misunderstood and has exactly the right level of composure on the ball. He looks lazy I grant you and I think this is picked upon. 2 champions league medals are not a fluke. He is ex Chelsea and that hasn't helped but Harold will pick him I am certain exactly for the attributes and calm he brings at this level I used to play with many French players and it took me a while to adapt as I got sent off a couple of times in France ... For simply tackling I then started to understand about the game ... Time ...there is loads of it and now I look to players you with the ball make good choices I don't think I have ever seen Bosingwa get stuck in and there are many wings backs that don't play this way now . Bosingwa is not a brilliant player but he has a wealth of experience and maybe Harry sees that or maybe Fabio will be back Either way we have the tools for the job and its time to use them
Personally, I can't disagree with anything Neville has said there. I thought both Boswingwa and Mbia's reading of the game was very poor on Saturday.
Best pundit I've seen/heard. Impressed me when we played United last season at LR. Unbiased which can't be said about ANY ex United when talking about United/Sir Alex.
Indisputable, but would he want to celebrate if the other Neville scored a worldie against his team? I think not. :-/
If you have the chance it's well worth watching Nevilles analysis of the QPR game that he did on last nights ''Monday Night Football''. When you break it down like he did, it looks even more comical than it did at the ground. Bosingwa's 'tackle' was half arsed but keep your eye on Mbia after he gets shrugged off by Welbeck. He gets up, turns AWAY from play, takes a few leisurely steps away with his back to the ball and the game and adjusts his gloves, he's wandering into the middle of the pitch when all the danger is behind him. Absolutely disgraceful. He can tweet about QPR all he wants and give his shirt to fans after the game but that was just ridiculous. He either doesn't care as much as he makes out (like half the squad) or he's thick as pig ****. Probably both.
There is no denying that he has experience and technical ability, however we are in a dog fight now and have been since day one and IMO if you are UNABLE to show fight, passion, desire, teamwork and are unable to tackle and he has zero of the above, then you are simply in the wrong job or with the wrong team. I don't think we will see him in hoops again, unless there is a crisis, nor do I want to see him again. I'm sorry Dave but you have got this one wrong he has shown his true colours and leopards do not change their spots, there have been plenty of examples of average players that look good in good teams and he has been fortunate to play in good teams and now he has some medals he thinks that he can simply show up and ponce about. It's a bit like saying we have a striker that is the best header of the ball but he can't jump? The faster he leaves our club the better we will be for it!!
Something is niggling me. Should it not be 'inexplicable' rather than 'unexplainable'? Over to the English Language pedants to sort it out.
