As a mad fool who still dares to hope, can I just point out the fixtures for this weekend? Soton v QPR. I guess you all knew that! Everton v Reading Wigan v Liverpool Villa v Man City on Monday. Sunderland v Fulham. Ok, saints beat us at home but that was then. We ARE improved under Harry and if we can get anything from our game, it is more likely that Reading, Wigan and Villa won't. I'll keep saying it. Don't write us off until w/e of 6/7th of April.
Time will tell RTID. I cartainally won't be putting my mortgage on us winning but you are right, we COULD possibly close the gap this weekend.
We just simply have to win - Everton home to Reading will hopefully have their wits about them an not squander a late lead like they did at Norwich last Sat. Wigan with their new found form could quite possibly turn over Liverpool. Man City should take care of Villa as should Sunderland at home against Fulham.
I can quite easily see Wigan beating Liverpool mate. I agree that Reading and Villa SHOULD lose. A draw on Saturday would be just about ok, as long as we take at least 8 points from our next 5 games I think we'll still have a chance....there you go.....I'm still hoping, stupid, deluded old fool!!
Really think this is a must win (cringe factor). We're running out of games. Then again .................a performance would be nice.
How you doing mate? Yeah...I agree that we should go all out for the win, I just think that Sunderland at home and Villa away are more winnable. Southampton away is really tough.
Get in there Col we have to get something from this match Saturday but the prospects are looking possible but if we bugger it up then we derserve to sink ... This is it No excuses No maybes No bollocks This is the start of our chance We get turned over Saturday and other results go against us then fair enough it's bleak Enjoy the ride
A bit like jumping off a skyscraper and hoping that you can fly. It's hitting the ground that kills you! I want us to beat Southampton and everyone else in the mix to lose, I don't hold out any hope of staying up but I'd like to finish on a half decent points tally and not just be a given for other teams that need a win.
I honestly think we will lose, dont think the players are up for the challenge anymore and Arry doesn't believe in our players abilities
A very insightful comment. I believe that has been part of our problem from day 1. QPR lose 5 nil against Swans (and 4 nil against Bolton the previous season) and that sets us up as you state as a three pointer for other teams. Only a mini run can change that mentality both of other teams and, more importantly, ours. Absolute and final last roll of the dice between now and 7th April.
Cheers all. It is nice to be 'right' once in a while but that pales into insignificance compared to the hope that win brings. Having said that, and now having watched match of the day, I regret to say the better team lost! As Holloway would say, 'we took home the ugly bird last night' but what the heck. Win pretty, ugly or any which way if we want to keep our slim hope alive. Alas, Secret, no wager. Not a huge betting man though after my predictor (will bump that thread on 7.4.13), I did wonder about a small punt on final positions. COYRss!
Well done RTID, all results gone our way so far this weekend, hopefully Man City will spank Villa and we then have a chance to make it two on the trot next Saturday which will really get the belief that we can do another 'Great Escape'. It's all about momentum now...
Absolutely, a win for us next week with a few more results going in our favour, will send the bookies scurrying to their calculators!
