I like the idea of sailing to away games in a battleship, attending football matches, while giving a nod to our marine heritage is a nice idea(even if it would take even longer than Tiger Travel and the games would be limited).

Where could we go to? Brighton, Blackpool, Bristol and Cardiff?

I went on HMS Illustrious on a school trip when I was 13/14 ish. Couldn't you put it near The Lord Line building? Regenerate that as a hotel - then you've got hotel accommodation and tourist attraction on one site?

The barbecues on the top deck, the charlie chalks slides down the side, the 500ft city flag, and the slowest to drink a pint gets demoted to the engine room.. ooh the thought is just mind tingling!

We could sail down the thames.. watford palace.. oh and maybe use the cannon on parliament..

It would be an incredible thing for the city. Imagine having the pride of the British Navy right on our doorstep! I mean the Deep gets its own tourist numbers, being the biggest and most successful Millennium Attraction in the country; however this has many different side effects. If this came to Hull and was successful, AND the green port also arrived, the whole of the dockside of Hull could be transformed! Jobs, jobs, jobs... whether it be tourism or industrial; more money into the city and more people actually leave with a smile instead of simply wanting to "piss off home." Plus we could see a whole marina regeneration too, that boat could lead to others, maybe have a boat museum like York has a Railway one? I don't know, the possibilities are endless.

Also, aren't they re-doing the boat as a conference centre too? Imagine having a meeting on an Aircraft carrier. Awesome :D

If brady's navigating is anything like his freekicks we'd end up in New south wales instead of south wales..

Is the carrier big enough that the team could play an exhibition game on the deck? That would be great for the opening weekend that it was in Hull.

I believe so however health and safety bastards will deem the 0.05 percent risk that Mcshane could fall off the side and fall 150ft too dangerous:/

You might struggle to get it under Trent Bridge next time we're at Forest, but if it comes with Harrier jump jets I suppose you could blow the ****er to pieces.

The deck below the runway did double as a sports court when the planes were on top deck - from memory. It's big by UK standards, but a tiddler compared to some of those US Navy behemoths!

Appropriate use of force in the gun crime capital. We could enforce a 'Zero Tolerence' and just smash everything!

Couldn't we do Milwall? Just off the Isle of Dogs down the Thames? Middlesbrough is near enough the Sea.

If the Battleship Potemkin could kick start a Russian revolution I'm sure we can win the Championship with an aircraft carrier.
For instance a few jets circling away grounds on match day and the occasional burger stand vaporised by horse-seeking missiles might just intimidate one or two opposition players enough to sway the result...just saying.

I was on the Enterprise when I was a boy scout in Greece. Everything looks big when you are little though.

You should definitely to a whole theme if you can. Like the national air and space museum here but with war ships. People would come from all over to see stuff like that if you did it right.

The whole plan will be scuppered when they find out how much to Hull City Council want to charge to have that thing parked on the waterfront.
