I am sure that he along with many of the other players would love to say that they had played in the Prem. For him it would be another notch on his belt, but for some of the younger ones they know it would increase their earning power. While that is a possibility it should spur them all on.

Someone who had a train booked and paid for on Easter Monday reported that they had written to the FL and has received this reply.

With reference to the Hull City v Watford fixture change, this was
authorised by The League to ensure that both clubs have equal and
adequate recovery time between games. As you are no doubt aware,
Watford are playing on Good Friday at 3pm.

Whilst we understand your frustrations, all Football League fixtures
are subject to change, and along with TV scheduling, games can be
moved at any time due to a whole variety reasons. In this case the
movement of the Huddersfield Town v Hull City fixture for live
television impacted on the recovery times which lead to our decision
to agree to Hull Citys request to defer the fixture with Watford by
    24 hours.

It is of course regrettable that any fans may encounter difficulty
with travel bookings in relation to this fixture change and we do
attempt to keep changes to a minimum throughout a season.

Thank you for contacting The League.

Total rubbish of course. Hull's game was moved by two hours not a day. Seeing as we will now be playing 24 hours later, can we ask for a delay for our following game?

This is all bullshit!!! They still have 2 hours less than us to recover. They are professional footballers who are SUPPOSED to be at the peak of their fittness, and two hours should make no difference.

You do get the feeling Hull pushed for this as an inconvenience for us as much as anything... but if it means Zola doesn't make too many changes after the Burnley game with the extra days rest, then maybe it is a good thing (except for the fans)

Didn't fare any better with FSF - this is their response:

"I can assure you that Hull City are deeply disappointed and frustrated at the position they find themselves and the situation is a little more complex than you may think what with contractual obligations for televised games and also the policing of matches. I've spoken with the MD of Hull City this morning and while the game v Watford was not mentioned, he came across as a man fully aware of the sacrifices fans have to make to follow their team and I'm sure inconveniencing Watford fans is something he regrets although I appreciate you may take that sentiment cynically! The simple fact is that sometimes kick of times are beyond the control of the clubs.

Unfortunately, I'm far from convinced that the decision to move the match can or will be rescinded.

I'm sorry I can't give you a more satisfactory response but if you wish to take this further, then may I suggest writing to the Football League and the club themselves?

    Best wishes
    "

A wasted effort it would seem, but worth the try. I really do wonder if those faceless jerks in suits at FL ever scratch their heads over the fact that matches are regularly being played across the country in half empty stadiums. If they do, they no doubt think the fault is solely at the door of the fickle football supporters.

Going back to the Hull game, I've heard that the West Yorkshire Police initially said that they didn't want it to be moved but as Huddersfield haven't had a home game on Sky yet this season, if it wasn't then they would have had a points deduction. That would be a bit harsh as it would've been the fault of Sky for not choosing one of their other games but under those circumstances the Police backed down.

Can someone explain this rule, please. It seems extraordinary. How many points does a team lose and why?

Being reported tonight that the FL will make their decision on Bazgate by the end of the week. Free coach travel to Hull and season ticket renewals will have a price freeze.

The club are putting on free coaches for the Hull game because of the fixture move :)

And...existing ST holders won't be paying anymore next season!

    Loving our owners!

It's great, they really do seem to understand football and the fans!

They know it's about getting people through those turnstiles and entertaining them. Hopefully through the 2nd, there will be a lot more of the first!
