Almost every week, Col, I look at your formations and thing 'yep. That's about what I think too.' Trouble is we NEVER play with the attack minded line ups you choose. And we lose. Swords - you may be right - I don't think Hoilett's had a fair run yet.. he could make all the difference you know. (ie we may finish 2nd bottom if he sparks!)

I know mate. I just don't understand why Harry isn't attacking more. Maybe he will from Saturday eh?
Swords.............how about YOU suggest a line up instead of rubbishing every player that's considered?

You know something....the most depressing thing is that round about every monday evening/tuesday morning a small spark of optimism starts to ignite and you think....this week maybe, just maybe this will be the weekend when we kick start our way out of this mess, afterall it can't get any worse.....and guess what...every bloody saturday/sunday it does get worse......I know i should remain positive but reading the same garbage week in week out about how well training has gone, how good the week in Dubai was, how the players feel etc.....and they still play sh*te. Why should the saints game be any different...they look a decent side, they know how to score goals.....us.....well i suggest Harold draws a bloody great diagram of what the goal looks like and tell they players that unless they start scoring pdq they will sampling the pies in Barnsley next season and their wages will be slashed accordingly.

I hope I am wrong but a lot of the positivity has departed and all i want now is for the season to end so we can discuss more off topic subjects because in all honsety talking about the R's is bloody depressing.

To be honest mate I don't think it makes an awful lot of difference which players we select. I look through all the lad's selected line-ups each week and I just can't get even a modicum of interest going never mind excitement. Practically every player I think of this season has been pure and utter sh*te. The fact that we were even discussing Jay Bothroyd, who's scored an incredible one league goal for us in two years, as the man to lead the line against Manchester United last Saturday just shows how futile the process is.

Face it mate, our whole squad is a pile of poo.

I know you like the 3 at the back formation and I always have too. I just feel that it would be too risky to make such a radical switch, especially as the players haven't played it this season at all.

put this down as a bad season and hope for a better manager who can bring you back up is about all you can do. your to far behind now and not even as good as reading and saints and they will be relying on some help by others. they are not saying anymore about qpr chances and have you down regardless and its all about who will join you...Bad management has got you relegated not the players....

Dai you may well be right but when you've only scored 19 goals in 27 games that is down to the players....

It's a forum. I don't think I've ever seen you post a suggested line up or tactic. You just say "they're all ****e" and that's it. How about enlightening us with your thoughts on a formation/system etc?

You're probably right Col, I'm clutching at straws, I need to see a different approach. If we start as normal with Onouha at RB and Traore at LB with Fabio left or right mid, we could switch to this at any time. Anything but seeing Samba shunted up front again for the last 10 minutes.
Martinez turned it round after Christmas for Wigan last season by taking a risk. Perhaps we practiced this or something different in Dubai......we have to change something mate.

Personally i would go 4231 the same as our championship winning season, only problem is the holding striker can only play 45 minutes, the alterntive in Remy is not a holding striker relying more on pace, we do not appear to have that many attack minded midfielders judging by the numbers we get into the opponents penalty area.....we are simply to defense minded so the 4231 does not work.....it ends up as 451 or 4141 and nobody getting forward to support the holding forward.

You're in an aggressive humour tonight. Oddball and one or two others have slated you today but there's no use in taking it out on the bloke that's agreed with you all day.

Look COL, we've played 27 games in a piss poor league and we've managed to win two games. We've spent millions of pounds on these players via wages and transfer fees yet they've been absolutely woeful from start to finish. To be frank, I think all your talk every week about formations/systems etc is pointless and about as interesting as a snot rag. What do you hope to achieve? It matters not a jot which of our current players play where if they don't even try and can't pass the ball 5 yards.

    Its totally irrelevant mate.

Swords.. don't dodge Col's question, it was a fair one. What line up would you start against Southampton.. put your money where your mouth is - dare ya!

I'm not disagreeing with you. We MUST change something and who knows, 3 at the back may just be the way. Maybe switch to it if we need to? With regard to Samba being pushed up front? I found that a tad embarrassing tbh.

It would work with Hoilett and Townsend each side of Taarabt behind Remy. Plenty of pace and attacking intent.

Pot/Kettle/Black! Oh...and only Dave has slated me and that's quite reassuring really.

The fact that you never post any views on tactics/formations etc speaks volumes Swords. Come to think of it, you don't post on match threads either. A goal goes in and people post "****" or "get in". Not you....nothing! Says a lot imo.

Oh dear!! Fabio at BOTH full back positions? Confirms what a lot of us have been thinking Swords. (Could we have Remy up front twice as well?) <laugh><laugh><laugh><doh>

Well done Swords! You seem to hate the tactical discussions so I won't draw you in to one.. others might though... Thanks and respect.. where's your money.. oh there it is.. where you mouth is.. (I'd put some kind of friendly emoticon here but I'm a snob and hate them!)
