Although I don't agree, I can see the logic in that. They had a very poor start but seem to have bought well in January, plus they did very well last season.
But don't you think that this season proves more that they just went on a good run and nothing more, it will be interesting to see where they finish this season and where they go on from there. I just thought that his comment about the league table was silly, it obviously does matter and that them getting Europe may not have been the best thing for their club .. Unless they go on to win the Europa league, then that will be different.
You don't do well in a 38 game season based purely on luck! However, you can have a bad season due to being unlucky. Cabaye and Ben Arfa injuries, other key players not performing for whatever reason. In short, I don't think they were as good as their league position suggested last season but nor do I think they are as bad as this seasons table shows. IMO, they are a top half side with the potential to do more. They have the stadium, fans and the basis of a good team (subject to fitness and attitudes), if they sign one or two quality players then they would be able to challenge. The difference between them and us is simply the number of 'ifs', there are more questions for them to answer than us and we have a fair few ourselves!
Europe is one of the differences here, they aren't used to it and due to loads of injuries it's hit then real bad. It still makes me laugh though and I stand by my comment on which I find it hilarious that Tash said the league table doesn't matter, so it's alright according to Tash that they're sat in 14th and are only 1 pt ahead of Sunderland.
Making my own fruit cider with my mates at the moment, we've just siphoned it into an airtight container, so a couple more weeks and it'll be ready.
Nice one, always fancied trying the homebrew but my Father in Law does it all the time so I've never bothered.
Of course league position matters now but come August its a new season and clean slate for everyone! Sixteenth to about eighth is only a couple of good buys so it depends on summer activities along with player fitness levels next year.
