read the books first as i think they'll have to cut quitd a bit out especially from thd third book, far too complex to film accurately

Yeah, It's on every Sunday at 9 pm on (I think) Pick TV. Whilst it is very X Filesish, it does stand on it's own and seems to be getting darker with each episode. Quite a good premise and not a half bad way to while away an hour <ok>

  10. Just spent two hours trying to configure a second router to communicate with my main router without joy. Apperently, the second router doesn't support 'bridge mode' <grr> Only reason for this was so I could get the xbox online! Back to drawing board as I don't want to buy a xbox wireless adapter <laugh>

  12. I reckon I'm going to invest in some power line adapters instead. Refuse to buy xbox merchandise, hate Microsoft and Apple for trying to corner the market! (bought xbox before I found these principles lol)

If you want to play games online then wireless isn't so good anyway becuase of the lag. I use a really long ethernet cable.

  14. Part of the reason I don't want the xbox wireless adapter too. Thought about long ethernet cable (£4.50 for 12metres) but I have a five year old, three year old and a dog lol The power cable adapter is the way to go at the minute, makes it hard cabling as it uses the buildings electricity wiring to transfer the feed

I may well look to get my connection problem sorted I'm not a fan of online gaming but there are plenty of good features on the xbox.

You can even connect the xbox to another laptop via media player if you have the signal so you can then access all the vids and music on your laptop. Sky of course is also good and much cheaper than multiroom.

I have a router which cost me ~£30 and does exactly this. I'll go look on ebuyer see if I can find it...

    ... A few mins later...

    Mine is http://www.ebuyer.com/168753-edimax-wireless-n300-range-extender-access-point-ew-7416apn

But just looked and there are other, cheaper ones such as
    http://www.ebuyer.com/259811-tp-link-tl-wa730re-repeater-external-tl-wa730re
    http://www.ebuyer.com/257251-edimax-5-port-wireless-n150-extender-access-point-ew-7228apn

Also regarding the comment about using wireless, I've used it on my xbox for about 4 years with no problem whatsoever including hosting CoD matches regularly. If you have a decent ISP and don't use their crappy stock routers then you should be fine.

  19. Saw that you can use a laptop to connect but that would still rely on a wireless feed (not great if playing games online) and I don't have a laptop, buying one would be a lot more costly <laugh>

  20. Cheers for the info <ok>

I'm going to go with the power line adapter though, especially since I found out you can get them with built in WIFI bridging too <ok>
