He should be able to turn up in a private helicopter if he wishes to. To say that he cant get a ticket unless he uses the correct transport is a serious abuse of civil liberty. I lived outside of the Leicester area for a large part of my life, and if I had been told I couldnt go to Filbert Street, or even to Highfield Road (which was 2 minutes walk from me), I wouldnt have been a happy fox.
Proud - both of the above wont be covered by Legal Aid come 1st April unless there has been discrimination as I mentioned above.
Are you a football fan, or not? If you were given 1,500 tickets for a game against Peterborough and they insisted that you could only go by coach from the KP would you think it fair, or not? Huddersfield are not even traditional rivals of ours, the police are using 'the risk of excessive drinking due to the kick off time' as their justification for this, despite the fact that Hull City didn't have a single fan arrested for an alcohol related offence last season. The police have an obligation to always justify their actions, on this occasion they are not doing so, they are just issuing bullshit statements about risk assessment and police intelligence(which they quite obviously lack). This is not an issue that just concerns Hull City and Huddersfield Town, this is about the policing of football matches and the increasingly draconian measures that the police are putting in place for no good reason. It needs to be challenged to someone and I'm happy to see it's us that are doing so.
The worst bit about this is the self fulfilling prophecy angle.Normally we only have the usual wannabe nutters like everyone else. Can you imagine next year(if wyp can stop us entering the prem) and an overzealous steward at Hudders confronts any Hull fan? The best way to deal with a confrontation is to avoid it if at all possible-preferably with a sprinkling of good humour. Also ban the dick heads who actually cause the problems. Hull now has a much safer city centre on a weekend because the trouble makers are given a choice early doors to leave or be arrested.Due to less trouble generally when it does kick off they now look isolated and stupid. Be tough with trouble makers not with the general public. This will affect all clubs/fans
How many arrests have Hull had overall last season? Also how many have we had - we are the "high risk army" aren't we.
We had 14 arrests in total last season(only 7 clubs had less), you had 24(eight of them were alcohol related offences) and we had 8 banning orders issued, you had 9. It seems you should have had your tickets limited to 1,500 at Huddersfield and you should have been made to travel by official coach only, as you're obviously the high risk army. The worst offenders are - Birmingham/Millwall 65 arrests, Leeds 62 arrests, Brighton 49 arrests, Forest 43 arrests, West Ham 41 arrests and Boro 35 arrests.
Does the above list also apply to a league table of crap holes.I reckon I can think of another club that could make a surge for the top.(if dead bodies found in car parks is an indicator of anything)
I'm going to Derby in a few weeks on the train from here in sunny Sheffield, would be right pissed off if they said I couldn't go.
