Any Welsh side playing in the English pyramid system has the right to qualify to represent England in Europe as long as they don't take part in the FAW Cup and both Cardiff and Swansea comply with that. As far as I'm aware, appeals against sendings off and other disciplinary matters are still handled by the FAW for those clubs.
Fast forward to the 5 minute mark. Nearly 2000 musicians there and I was one of them. You can even hear me if you've got a good ear. That, apart from the birth of my daughter, still remains the proudest moment of my life, and I'm not a youngster either. Apologies for my b@lls up. Of course he was English. I have always got him mixed up with Joseph Parry, the Welsh composer. I will accept most humbly any punishjment you deem fit to dish out....within reason of course
The thing that gets me about Jerusalem, and not in a nice way, is the bridge passage between the verses. It just leaves me cold. Also for me anyway, Jerusalem only works with certain ensembles, whereas God Save the Queen works with any ensemble because it is such basic harmonies.
Maybe go with Cup Final tradition and use that hymn as the English NA - Abide With Me. Much easier to sing and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye - more than just the one in 1984. Written by one of God's own though - a Scotsman, which probably accounts for its 'dirgy' nature.
I was really annoyed this morning watching the BBC sports bulletin. They featured Newcastle who were having a "French Day" - their fans dressed up as Frenchmen etc to celebrate having 11 french players - and the BBC fawned all over them with smiles and such - how come they don't ask why Newcastle are not helping the development of English footballers - we get stick for just having foreign Loan players
Leo its simple watford small club Newcastle big club BBC ,sky et al all suck up to the big clubs , theres your answer.
We know Maestro - cannot park as easily, cannot get to the bar and loads of new fans who seem to do not what colour we play in. But the worst of all is being on MOTD and that smug bastard Linneker making his stupid comments about us every week.
At least you might get comments. We don't. We're lucky if we get, "Oh..and Norwich played today as well".
You don't need to be in the Prem to have problems getting to and from the ground as I found out Saturday. Coming over Hunton Bridge there was traffic piled up trying to get into Watford. Clever OFH thinks I'll avoid that and nips off towards the Dome. No go, traffic at a standstill, but too late to take avoiding action. Looking over the roundabout clearly loads of traffic so wrong decision again, try to go down towards the junction. Watching clock tick by and wondering if I will make the match before kickoff. With rapid walking along Vicarage, only stopping to pick up a drunk Derby fan and prop him against a wall, made it to the seat just as the whistle blows for the start. Half an hour to get out of the Church car park, then stop, start all along Hempstead Road. Eventually just before joining the roundabout by Hunton Bridge I come across the source of the whole problem, roadworks with temporary traffic lights. Anyway back in rural France where I have seen two cars since leaving the autoroute, and that is 60 kms away. Snow up in the north coming down quite steadily, and they had some here while we have been away. Temperatures due to rise every day this week so what snow is still here should go pretty quickly.
