I genuinely think that we could get automatic promotion. I know we still have plenty of games to go but we really seem to be getting better. To be honest I know most of us dislike Cardiff but if they can take points from the chasing teams around us and we stay second I'd be happy with that.
I have said right from the start of our run that I think we will make the play-offs but lose out in the final. I would love to be proved wrong, but I simply think that we will suffer heartbreak. Im sorry, but thats what I think.
We are the Championship's best English team, and on that basis I predict that we will end up as champions.
I can't believe this, but I think we are going up automatically if we can keep it together under the pressure. This is incredible how we have developed over the season.
If at the start of the season anyone had told us that with 12 games to go we would be one of the favourites for automatic promotion we would have laughed at them
Hold on a second. We both got a new manager and we are both having a great season. Cardiff in general don`t hate any team we all want our teams to win. I say the same to you as Hull when they were second, it is not Cardiff you need to worry about if you can keep the teams below you where they are you will get promoted too. Now this is how you play the game...the top two join forces and try to beat the others with a chance. We do not need to be friends but we do need to be smart. good luck jck
I thought we would catch Cardiff easily, but after today we will have a little more trouble. Cardiff do have to lay us, Hull, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Forest all wanting to get into the play-offs or more.
I think we are in danger of behaving like the Leicester fans that came on here. There is a long way to go and it is very close for second place. I have stated elsewhere that I don't think that we will catch Cardiff. They have to lose 3 more games than us and draw one more. Even if we win all the rest of our games this season Cardiff still have to drop 8 points. Both scenarios are ossible but very unlikely. As Jck200 said. We need to be more concerend about the teams below us. We are now in a position that allows us to drop as many points as Hull and still go up provided that we don't drop more than two points more than Leicester and four more than Palace. I suspect that this will go to the last game of the season no matter how much I hope that we are promoted before then. What worries me more is if we lose second spot on that last day, because I don't think that is good, psychologically, when going into the play-offs.
i'd like to see us consolidate 2nd before i could be confident of finishing in the top two...i know we can do it, i hope hope hope we do!
I think I have mistakenly put this on the wrong board - am I really reading that so far 23 out of 24 people believe we will go up ? There's confidence for you Dan - be ashamed
I'm with babyhornetdan here. I hate pessimism (ironically, I am most negative against pessimism), and I feel just missing out on the play-offs would still result in a positive season. We are just playing too good, and at the moment I am struggling to see it continue. I thought it would be a difficult season, and so did everyone else. I am still struggling to convince myself we actually are playing THAT good. It feels alien so me, hearing pundits and opposing fans labelling Watford as the best footballing side in the Championship, with world-class players. I am still in a state of shock, and once I finally come to terms with the fact Watford might actually do it this season, I can then predict something a bit more positive!
You lot are so much like most of our fans were the year we went up to the PL. The similarities are quite frightening.
Our greatest enemy is complacency. No! Our two greatest enemies are complacency and fatigue. And injury to key players. Our three greatest enemies are complacency, fatigue and injury to key players. We must also avoid unwise squad rotation. The combination of complacency, fatigue, injury to key players and unwise squad rotation would severely hinder our chances. Should we avoid these four enemies, then the FL could still deduct points because we wear yellow shirts. So that is five enemies to deal with-- complacency, fatigue, injury to key players, unwise squad rotation and the FL. Perhaps we should change our shirt colour for the last 12 games?
