QPR must win six-pointers, urges Mackie By Adam Gilbert 24 Feb 2013 16:51:00 The striker remains optimistic that his side can beat the drop and emphasises the importance of upcoming fixtures against fellow strugglers at the bottom of the Premier League Jamie Mackie believes that QPR's results against the teams struggling with them at the bottom of the Premier League table will decide their fate. Harry Redknapp's side remain rooted to the bottom of the division and lie seven points from safety with only 11 games remaining this season. After suffering a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United, the Hoops forward has turned his attention to upcoming fixtures against Southampton, Wigan, Reading, and Aston Villa. "I think we were playing the champions, in my opinion," Mackie said after the defeat against the league leaders. "They are a top-drawer side and [Rafael] has scored a worldie. "If he hadn't done that, maybe we were in the game. It's hard when we keep going 1-0 down and have to chase a game. It's tough. "Next is Southampton and if we can get results against the teams in and around us it is almost like a double game." The 27-year-old took some consolation in the fact that the margin between QPR and safety was not extended over the round of results as a whole. "It is another game down but no-one has stretched the margin," Mackie added. "It's important for us to try and get a result, a few back-to-back results, so we could be in there. "It is going to be hard but we've got to keep going, keep trying to play and get a result. That's all you can do."
we can definitely do it! our season really starts this week, forget the rest, the awful, awful games and lets just say, look, we can get ourselves out of this. 2 wins and suddenly it could be 3 or 4 points the gap and we'll all be much more confident (providing those wins dont come with 1 game left of course….!!)
mackie is crap from what i have watched the last couple, as is samba, waste of millions on that log, anyway good luck
To be honest I don't see Southampton as a 6 pointer, I think they will be fine. Just between the 4 of us now or more likely 2 from 3 rather than 3 from 4 if you know what I mean.
The boy maybe a sandwich sort of a lunchbox but i am guessing he will do his pressing stuff at the Saints
we must do six pointers of course we have to & why don't they stop ****ing talking about it & ****ing well get on & do it instead of giving all this crap out to us fans week in week out, ****ing sick of it & this season, sorry rant over.
I agree, wish the players would stop saying what is needed and just go out on the pitch and do it. Fed up with 'we can beat Man Utd', or 'Southampton is a six pointer.' You go to the game and it looks like no training has taken place and they serve up another load of old rubbish. We all know what is needed and that is a Wigan revival.
Its either Derry,Hill,Mackie or Mbia with a war cry before games.I dont give a toss what they say now and Mackie is a pants striker and a league 1 talent. The problem is,we could be stuck with a lot of the 'old guards' next season and as much as they put the effort in,they are very limited. Lets get some young, talented players in with one or two quality experienced players.

Well put. The Twitter generation of ours just can't keep it shtum no more. I wish TF would go down there and put a sock in all of them and make them just do it.
