Have to say it's a two way street. Me and the lad watched in awe and admiration on Saturday at the simply breathtaking movement of RVP and Hernandez in the first half. They were right in line with us much of the time and it was quite something to observe. No way could anyone watching on TV have seen any of that unless it was highlighted or part of an actual move involving the ball. On the other hand, I thought Giggs may have been offside for his goal and that Cesar's positioning may have been in question, but from my seat there was no way I could tell either way. Watching the game back on TV I could see straight away. Swings and roundabouts for me.

Why bother Queens? This board isn't about debating anything to a conclusion or consensus. Some people are prepared to have a dialogue and change their mind, others aren't. The TV vs being there argument clearly makes you angry, can't see why you would want to go over the same ground yet again. Your call of course.

For the record, I couldn't care less. My preference is to be at the ground for the atmosphere and company, and because I have a short attention span and often get distracted when watching at home (at the pub I tend to wander as well, and on my visits to the Emirates over the last couple of seasons have found it tricky to stay awake). But this season a visit to the dentist seems preferable to both options.

    Spot on mate!
Personally Id rather be at the game, but the coverage you receive is no where like what we get.
Glad you cn see that Col. You seem to have "developed your beliefs <ok>

SB..It is the other stuff that goes along with it that a few posters on here (myself included) take exception. I can accept diffrent opinions but these are more than that.

Best left alone until a boring summer weekend after we are relegated, the Lions win & we retain the Ashes..AGAIN!

What coverage do you get QL that is so much better?

I have just spent a few weeks watching Fox Sports and it is the exact same coverage as Sky Sports except different commentators.

Both Fox & Sky are owned by Rupert Murdoch.

Do you get somebody else over in Oz?

You're lucky that you get every single game over there Queensy. My brother's the same in America. I get ESPN and Setanta on top of Sky Sports but it still doesn't amount to half the games (not bad though considering we used only get one or two per year!)

One thing that's definitely superior about watching on TV is the replays. The lads said on Saturday that they didn't know whether Giggs was offside or not and still didn't know leaving the ground. I knew 10 seconds after he scored.

There's pluses and minuses to both I reckon.

Spot on as per what col said.
Also I'm not sure about Ireland swords, but we get the entire games replayed 2-3 times a week for those that missed them.
Really intresting to watch after i've read the match reports and peoples postings of what they saw, both positive & negative.
i usually look out for points posted on here like players actions, being good / bad, passes. instance when people post (mBai for sake of argument) should / could have passed, maybe why he didnt etc.
I also watch it and think about what I would have thought had I been at the game. I can honestly say that my opinions in that instance vary wildly.
Instances like when player "X" shoots and misses. If im at the game I would have been screaming for him to shoot but watching on TV (or what-ever) I find myself thinking "lay it off" because of those around him or in better positions.
I'm not saying either is right or wrong, simply that its a fun experiment to do when you have time if you do it honestly. You really can have a split personality !<laugh>

Anyway like we said lets save this for a quieter time. Got a few ideas and examples i've been remembering that i was gonna use. Be intresting to see how many of us ( and i reckon lots will) remember them...ahhh the good old days eh? <ok>
