We are the sorriest bunch in the entire football league. No other team has given its supporters less to cheer about this season than our overpaid, underperforming, hopeless bunch. I tried to find a team with a worse success rate than us, including Scotland, down to conference, no one other team comes close. Despite the huge investment, hope and anticipation, to missquote; never have so few, been paid so much and disappointed so many. Sorry for the rant, just pissed off dreading MOTD week in week out and never feeling remotely upbeat. I feel better now, off for a Guinness.

Yeh, our pre-match catch-up in the Conningham was an excellent aperitif right enough. To get to know some of the faces in the LR crowd you wouldn't have known without this board, is not only a revelation I'd never imagined but something that adds a whole new dimension to what it's been supporting them Rs for so long. Whole new level of pride in our R-dom I guess.

After that though, soon as we entered the ground, it's like the sparkle began to fade. No real excitement, not even at the prospect of playing the champions elect and a team of United's traditions. That's a first for me. We were still roaring the team on at the top of our voices though but as the game went on, particularly after we went behind, everyone around us fell silent and things became a bit of a blur for long periods. Even the big voiced extrovert behind us, who was first in and last out with every chant emanating from R block and the Loft area, petered out well before half time.

Found myself wishing we fans could pump it up to the max to get our team going for the kill. But nothing from the team, nothing from R block and nothing from me. Wasn't a case of being averse to swimming against the tide. Been doing that one way or another most of me life... just nothing left in the hope tank. It would take a goal or two from our lot to stoke the fire and warm us up on a cold and empty day - but we ALL knew there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of that happening anytime soon enough.

    That could've, would've, should've been about it really - but it wasn't.

Not so much talking about United adding a second to leave our team knowing who's boss - more, much more, the way THEIR FANS did the same thing to us lot. It was like Southampton, with two tiers of noisy 'away' supporters all standing and animated down the far end - only that much worse. As the game progressed they were incessantly belting out that 'happy' song: 'oh ho ho it's magic, you know. Never believe it's not so'. Impressive enough in itself but made all the worse in the way they made clear this was their party - and our funeral. Over and over and over again. All of 'em - even outside the ground after the game. 'Oh ho ho it's magic, you know. Never believe it's not so'

If there's a better way of hammering your demise down into your very soul, please don't enlighten me. Not listening. After that fan drubbing yesterday, just don't wanna know!

As for 'Arry and the boys, ain't happening is it? They know it and on yesterday's evidence, so do we.

Just goes to show that money ain't the be all and end all. You've got to make the right preparations early and get out of the blocks at the first creak of the trigger. Fall behind and the clouds that gather overhead consume you and there's little chance of making up the necessary ground.

Beginning to wonder whether 'Arry's appointment ended up doing more for the lesser lights than it did for us. Booster effect if you like. Fact they've all got strikers, forward momentum and goals in them, and we still haven't doesn't help much either, does it?

Good report Col as usual. Surprised you could see anything through the gloom and doom.

As Stan said earlier. Thank God for the rugby union. So nice to celebrate such a pleasing and well deserved win!

Cheers brix. Really is depressing in the ground at present mate. As you say, we need the players to show us something and then maybe the famous Loftus Rd noise will rise up.

No more so than 90% of the crap written on here, including the ITK bollocks and the self indulgent OT threads.

If you don't like what he says then don't read it, click ignore ... Now were have I heard that before!

It says all you need to know when the pre-match meet up was the highlight of the day.

I can't decide if Redknapp is still trying to prove points or is actually picking what he believes is the best side to win any particular match. Poor old Granero has looked too lightweight all season, and as for Bosingwa, that is beyond me. Onouha has been getting better and better, how does he feel to get dropped for someone who clearly doesn't care?

As we all know, we have reached the critical stage of the season, there is no more scope for point proving or bad decisions, everyone has to earn their money every week from now on.

Agreed Roller. I am beginning to think that Harry may simply be going through the motions. We can all see that Bosingwa is a waste of space; that Granero is too lightweight; that Onuoha has been getting better and better and that Townsend should have stayed on yesterday.

Thanks for the report mate. i cant disagree with much of that and the fact that you gave tarbs a low mark shows me you aint just making it up and the report is fair & square
I watched it with a group of Man Utd fans & couple of Geordies & TBH it was pretty embarasing. Man Utd didn't even have to try & when Giggs got through for the second, I was certain he would score. He doesnt miss them from thier. Total Pro. Why is it that if ANY of our players got into that position i still would not be convinced any of them would score. Just shows the gulf in class.

I think thats it for me. Its over & as much as I'd love to see us win a few, we aint gonna get 20 points from our remaining games.

Think its time to look forward to the Lions Tour and The Ashes in the upcoming months. Barmy Army gonna be invading in force this year. Really looking forward to it and gonna start looking for tickets.

As for the Prem, I'd like to say its been fun but it hasnt! Fatcs are as stated, we just arent good enough & next season is gonna be bad too i fear. Most will jump ship & not sure Harry will be with us. Roll on the next 15 years and at least i can say Ive seen my team turn up (because they havent played) in the Prem. We have younger fans who have never seen us up here & probably wish they hadnt seen the last 2 seasons either.

Good luck to all you travelling fans & ST holders. Not sure how you do it anymore <ok>

Didn't see it a lot different from you col, felt like there was an inevitability about this game which the crowd and players fell into. While we still had a chance against Champions elect for 80 mins, I felt they never really got into top gear and still had plenty to give. There were some bright points to take from the game but few and far between, Townsend for one.

I think Harry changed the formation with the next few games in mind, I'd guess he will play Remy and Bobby up front for the Soton game, we can afford to leave anything in reserve for later games any more **** or bust every game. If he does where are we going to put Adel !!

As Queens said - it ain't been much fun. And that's the worst part for me. I'm like you Queens - looking forward to the cricket and the Lions whilst hoping we get shot of a dozen or so and start over in the Championship next season playing with flair and passion. The last 2 seasons have been embarrassing. But this is QPR - things'll change, they always do. Respect to you guys who go and watch every week. It's easier to sit at home and be 'positive' - another story paying good money and good time to be let down.
Phew! Feel better for that. Excuse the rant

Surely, the whole point of this board IS to chew the fat, DT? The fact that the fat is pretty rancid at the moment doesn't change things. Col's report was an excellent summary as ever. It doesn't imply we are without hope, but that there's considerable room for improvement. I've tried to look for positives and find the following:

    - With a few exceptions, I thought our team did look up for the fight. They were outplayed as expected, but I do think Harry will have them motivated for the crucial games to come starting against Southampton on Saturday. I just hope he gets the tactics right.

    - we looked resilient though far from impressive until Raphael's fabulous goal. I doubt Raphael will score many better goals in his career, so there was an element of bad luck in that it had to be scored against us when we were just about containing ManU.

    - Samba's presence gives me hope when we take corners now, and other set pieces. Could be crucial

    - Townsend - Skilled, great potential, and a shame we don't own him.

I agree with other posters comments. The one thing we used to be good at was hitting teams fast on the break. If we can rekindle that, Remy can hurt teams.

Finally, great to meet Brix and family, a jet lagged SB (credit to him for making the match), Staines and sons, and Nines's daughters, and see Nines again and Col (who sits only a few rows in front of me, and whom I have yet to catch using a dictaphone, so his memory of match and sequences is most impressive). Everyone was in good spirits even thought things went downhill after 3pm. Ah well, there'll be better days ahead. I just can tell at the moment, how far ahead...

Correct of course Goldie maybe I just can't see the point of a autopsy on this game as I have always been focussed on the last 11 games from around xmas time ( my reference to the maths) this is it now mate like maybe when The ship goes down in the film Titanic and while most of the passengers are squabbling about what to wear I am too focused on the swimming. If we fail in the next 11 then we are crap as it's very doable ... I may moved on but took maybe a bit too much issue with Col's predictable comments about Bosingwa and I thought he did a reasonable job under a load of pressure Saturday

Dave, Dave, move on now, Bosingwa was feted as a Count of the highest order at the Chelski, they hated him even more than they hated Malouda and Mikkel.

In years to come those few rrrrs that didn't despise this total waste will be known as "The Infected"!!
