I don't think there is any point picking on Adel, but Shearer's general point is right - we don't score goals because we don't get players forward into threatening positions when we have the ball. Probably because we expect to lose the ball pretty quickly anyway. Unusually for me today I am feeling worse than I did at the end of the game yesterday. Not the result of course, but the fact that we did not force United into second gear, we did not get to see a tenth of what they can do if they are pushed. But our lack of shape, movement, intent and threat made it a relaxing warm up for them. Once again, in a game no one expected us to get anything from, we didn't have a real go and sod the consequences. I am not being entertained. Now we move into a run of games that Harold has said we need 20 points from, which means we have to score some goals. Saints will come at us fast and in numbers next time out. Have we got the plan, will and courage to reply in kind? Sadly I don't know.
