"WYP claim ‘justification’ for the C-IR rating was that ‘intelligence’ shows that 200-300 HC fans regularly occupy town centres with the objective of heavy drinking."

    Define 'heavy'.

It's our gift to the sluggish economies of the towns we visit.

Utterly disgusting, I'm definitely going to Huddersfield to watch the game in a pub now.

The useless ****s might find they get a few more emergency calls than normal too.

    Every action deserves a reaction.

So basically WYP cannot afford to police the game effectively and are using the fact that the game is on Sky (massive publicity stunt) to highlight cuts in policing not just in West Yorkshire, but across the country!
    An absolute disgrace!!

I will be listing every pub in Huddersfield who are showing the game.

I'm also working on getting hold of the home address of that that dipshit **** that Burnsy interviewed.

Rest assured, that should I manage to do so, it will be posted and tweeted.

after listening to the forum debate and insightful interview with Nick Thompson on WHCR on friday (podcast actually) the thought hit me - if city fans do actually take up the 1500 (or more if there is a compromise) ticket offer on official travel, how many police will it take to look after 50 or more coaches leaving the M62 at the Brighouse or Ainley Top turn-offs, let alone them all arriving at the ground within 30 minutes of each other. Bedlam springs to mind!

the programme also brought up the prospect of the similar fixture between Huddersfield and Hull FC a few weeks later at the same time on a Saturday night, where more than 1500 fans, some of whom will be the same people, will attend. will similar restrictions apply?

as much as i disagree with his political views, that Andy Dalton could teach our local 'hacks' a thing or two about 'local' journalism

If '2-300'Hull City supporters do congregate in city centres and 'drink heavily' although the Home Office report no one was arrested last year for drink related offences, the publicans of said city centres should be welcoming us with open arms.
Unless I've missed the bit that says drinking in city centre pubs on a Saturday is now illegal.

I'm struggling to recall any mass brawls or trashed pubs in recent memory (Barnsley aside when we were locked in).

Perhaps it says more about WYP's inability to do their job than our badly-behaved supporters.

After all, at away games, most drinking is done en route at small towns.

call into my house about 4 miles away from the stadium if you like and we'll go down the pub together. it would be ironic if a huddersfield pub was trashed by opposing fans after the kick-off!

will the goole crowd be classed as an official coach?

There was no mass brawl at York, just a bunch of twattish kids locked in a pub who broke some glasses.

That was a 'don't frighten the tourists' move by the NYP to deport our lot.

Don't lock people in pubs and people won't react badly.

It was a rather small group of fans involved and the inability of the local police to treat them appropriately escalated a minor spat unto a news event on a slow news weekend.

Why even Sentamu denounced them! <laugh>
