I just saw on skysports website "Paper Talk" that our players wil share £10 millon if we get promoted. Is this true ? (The report was from The Star) http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/papertalk
According to the HDM - True. You wouldn't think so though looking at the amateur defending yesterday. Bring back McShane, the defence looks much better when he's in the back 3.
i think the devil will be in the detail. the £10 million reported makes a great headline and fills a bigger space than the realistic detail that is probably behind it. just like a good car salesman or market trader, they sell the sizzle not the sausage!
It probably is more-or-less true (except that I reckon it would be paid over the season, rather than in a lump sum). The worst nightmare of a promoted team is its best players having their heads turned during the first season in the Premier League. If Charlie Adam had been 100% behind Blackpool during their year in the sun, they would probably have stayed up. And Championship fans wouldn't have to put up with the hypocritical rants of a poorly educated clown.
Most professional English clubs have a league bonus, the size of which is dependent on where the team finishes in the league. However I highly doubt ours is anywhere near as large as £10million.
I bet the £10m includes increased salaries to be paid next year. Even in the case of players who wont have a contract renewed and other players brough in instead.
If you read the HDM article it says that the £10m includes bonuses to players and staff, wage increases and payments to other clubs from transfers.
