    Well.....:emoticon-0111-blush

Back in the day, the main feature used to finish around five minutes before 'last orders' - and it was practice then in cinemas to play the national anthem at the end of the main feature, during which everyone was supposed to stand to attention. We used to have the 'Anthem Dash' down to a fine art - anticipating the end of the film, avoiding the national anthem and getting a couple of pints in before the pub shut for the night. Haven't been to a cinema in decades, but I can't imagine that happens any more.

Guess that sort of dates me. :)

This is the exact reason why I never leave a match early!! You never know what you are going to miss.

It does say something about Coventry's other fans though.

You score two goals in a semi final, and someone who was either directly below the stand or just outside it couldn't hear a thing?

I have never understood why a person would leave a game early - never have and never would - no matter what the score

I had to once. Late 60's, maybe 1970. Versus Orient (i think) at the Vic. I had to leave ten minutes early, my Dad waited in Cardiff Road with the car. Reason? I had to go and sing for a wedding. Worth a quid to me then.
We were 0-1 down when I left and then scored twice. Dagnabbit!
(nb all names, score lines and dates in this post are possibly completely wrong due to increased loss of memory cells!)

2 reasons never to call the BBC football show:

    1. You might get to talk to Alan Green
    2. You might get to talk to Savage

I felt uneasy about that even as I typed it. Whatever... anyway, the event scarred me.

I once talked to Mr Green on the BBc when we lost to Man Utd .. very drunk at the time and claimed we were unlucky .. Mr Green would have none of it and neither would the fellow 'orns fans who followed ... still the nation learnt a few new choice words cos I really don't like united!!! <cheers> ... still not as bad as my mate who left our game with WBA (ten ?) years ago when we were losing 4-2 only to find out later we drew 4-4 (away) .. still at least he'd got the drinks in!!

Alan Green doesn't like us becaue we beat Leeds in 2006 but Robbie Savage has praised us this season!

Mind you he liked being hated...

And Alan Green believes Leeds are a prem club...funny that, because I am sure we stuffed them away earlier this season

He is one of those annoying football people who thinks the leagues have to be based on how big a club is and what history they have...

I love the way he as an Northern Irishman gets so wound up about England!

It would be like us being upset that Luton keeping on losing..
