Thanks,... I suppose! Still, we can't have everything our way. I'm going to go for a 2-3 win. After a sluggish start after 2 weeks without a game we will go 2-0 behind in the first 35 minutes. We'll then nick one back just before half time. We'll then come out second half and dominate the game, with Newcastle tiring after European exploits. Rickie to both miss and score a penalty!
Krul was immense against Metalist on Thursday, probably MOTM for the second half anyway. He will surely be missed with the amount of shots Saints will be firing in.
Simon Peach has just summarised for us... Shaw - AVAILABLE Gaston - AVAILABLE Guly - DOUBT Fonte - OUT
If I had to choose 2 people out of the 4 to miss out it would be Guly and Fonte. Jos is starting to show the form of last season and we've also got Forren.
Damn. I thought Fonte would be in contention by now. The most frustrating thing about his injury was that it came when we were already down and out against Chelsea in the cup.
Yes but he's not been a massive loss points wise. Shame about Guly as I think he really suits the pressing game.
Adam Blackmore of BBC Radio Solent: "Noticeable today that #saintsfc boss Mauricio Pochettino is working hard on his English - seems to improve every time I see him." "Also noticeable after chats I've had in last week that #saintsfc players are loving training under new manager & they think he's excellent."
Glad to hear that, because players need to have belief to put in the hard effort in training necessary for the pressing style favoured by Poch.
The team we'll be able to field on Saturday is infinitely better than the one we played in the reverse fixture which you guys deservedly beat. Southampton are a good side with some players i really like, but we're in a bit of form, confidence and team spirit is high and I can see us getting a win here. 2-0
You've certainly added some quality signings since then, but we've improved as a team as well and have caught a few big teams by surprise lately. Should be a good close game
makes two of us. The funny thing with football fans is they only look in, not out. We are bang on form at the moment. I think it will be tough and hard to call either way. Just don't underestimate us at the moment.
going by the photos of the training on the OS MP will be talking with a scouse accent, also Yoshie seems to now be training with 2 balls which may help to explain his improvement, it also seems Punch has been shown how to ask for a toilet break.
Going for 2-1, I'm just not sure who to. I do think it will be a close, exciting game, but for some reason I feel convinced it wont be a draw.
I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a high-scoring game. Both teams are good going forward and not that great at the back. 4-3, I just don't know which way
Liverpool and Sunderland are still ahead of us I believe. We've finally overtaken Hull and I think we are catching those above us too.
