Gedo has already finished goals which Fryatt would have missed. Having said that, I would prefer to see them both playing
Maybe he does, but he looks to have aged (in his performances) recently. That's not to say he isnt still handy to have around, but I think he's guaranteed starting position will come into question.
Stockdale Chester Hobbs McShane Elmo Boyd Meyler Quinn Brady Aluko Gedo Subs: Jakupovic, Bruce, Rosenior, Cairney, Koren, Prozzy, Fryatt
You can't play Meyler as the holding midfielder!!!!!!!! We have tried it, and it has failed. He is at his very best when he has the freedom to make runs and get forward. You absolutely need someone like Evans/Bruce/Fathi/Oli to play in the middle.
I don't see how you work that one out? two of Gedo's where from three yards, maybe he wouldn't have scored that header, but that isn't Fryatt's game. I'll judge Gedo when he gets a one on one.

You would honestly play Quinn in central midfield ahead of Koren, and sacrifice his link up play with Brady? Koren can pass, score and unlock a defence, Quinn just runs around a lot. Good little player but he's vastly over rated by many on this board. He's good enough technically, good crosser, good touch, tidy passer, gets stuck in also, but he has no cutting edge, doesn't have that vision to split a defence in two, doesn't have the ability to smash them in from 20 - 30 yards consistently, lacks a yard of pace to outrun people and doesn't have the guile to get by them skillfully. The best part of Quinn's game is his understanding of Brady's.
I see where you're coming from, but Quinn was brilliant even before we signed Brady again wasn't he if I remember correctly? Koren does absolutely nothing for me, in a central midfield of 2 for me he is such a huge liability it's unbelievable. He's not going to scrap for the ball in centre mid and go up and down like Meyler and Quinn can. In my opinion you can't play him there.
When did Koren last do that? He was great for us last season, and even for the majority of this one, but he is deteriorating for me.
Admittedly not as much this season but he's been playing up front in a way that doesn't suit him for at least half the season. Still 3 of his 7 goals were belters from range against millwall, Cardiff and Huddersfield. Don't see how people say he doesn't offer much when if you look at the stats he's our 2nd top scorer and 3rd highest assister behind elmo and Brady. He's definitely not been at his best when playing up front but that's like playing jack hobbs up there and moaning that he's playing ****.
So my idea of fielding ten players to throw off the opposition didn't go down well... Stick Koren next to Boyd so there's 2 players feeding Gedo. Stockdale McShane, Hobbs, Chester Elmo, Meyler, Quinn, Brady Boyd, Koren Gedo
You might as well not play Meyler if you are going to put him in a holding midfield role. No point in putting his name on the team sheet you aren't going to let him do what makes him such a good player for us.
I think you shall be disapointed if you think like that. In the PL we shall need all the quality we can get for a start.
Simpson's actually got more assists as well, and the one against Huddersfield was from Quinn's cross rather than a long-ranger, which in a way helps to disprove your original argument that Koren > Quinn.
