Its about a baseball team called the Oakland As managed by a guy called Billy Beane who won TWENTY games on the spin, after being a lot more sh*t than we are

Last night showed be can beat anyone, I think we would have beat them all last night, the games we have left are all winnable we dont have to face Barca,United,Real or Bayern.

    We can win all 11

    Lets f**kin do it then

We can and we will. You mark my words.

So long as our players keep improving I think Brendan will win us a title.

    |It was Billy Beane who recommended Damian Comolli to FSG. Comolli is the Mr. Euro Moneyball. They got shot of him PDQ. Funny how the players he signed are working out.

lol, in the same way I'm 'capable' of riding the arse off Kelly Brook, but it's about as likely as winning the Euro Millions <laugh>

Funnily enough, the Euro Millions could help you achieve that. <ok>

Funny how the two most expensive are still just OK- you can't be OK for 35 and 20 mil.

That's a little contradicting coming from you, wouldn't you say?

    Define 'working out'.

Are you suggesting you are happy with how we are progressing?

Well Hendo is doing a little better now... he was a Comolli signing wasn't he?

Still over paid... but not a disaster. Same with Downing... we've commented frequently how he had risen his game to mediocre.

    Still over paid...

    Suarez? No, he was pre-commoli.

In summary, his signings weren't the best...

"Moneyball" doesn't work as well in football as it does in American sports because it is a fast moving sport with complex tactics and much more of a team element.

Baseball... yeah there is a team but it is still essentially bowler vs batter.

Grid iron, yeah there are some plays and whatnot and more strategy/teamwork than baseball but at its heart it is still one fatty running at another and the fattest fatty is going to belly flop the other more times than not.

You can't really moneyball football because it is so much more intricate and one players performance is effected so much more by his team dynamics.

No, not in the same way.

We have the opportunity to win these games, because we'll actually be there, playing them.

Conversely, you won't even get close to Kelly Brook and thus will never have the opportunity to 'ride her arse off.'

    Poor comparison.

10/10 for the pedantry, but I was refering to the odds or the likelyhood of both events occuring & you lot winning 11 on the bounce is never going to happen is it?

How long is it since you won 3 league games on the bounce?
