Wouldn't say they were magnificent. It was a good effort, and a couple of cracking free kicks, but you didn't really have any great chances to win the tie at 3-3. Gerrard and Shelvey had chances, but didn't really look like scoring from them. I thought you'd have gotten a lot closer than you did given how poor their defence and keeper were.
It might have been twitching had I cared that much about the result. I reckon yours will have twitched more than mine when Reina had to turn that shot away when Zenit countered! In many ways I thought it was typical Liverpool this season - you had a lot of the play without really carving them open, conceded a silly goal and would have drawn had Suarez not pulled a couple of cracking free kicks out of the hat. In the end it's just another case of your team looking good but not being good enough.
That was pretty blatant by Suarez, his nibble at Lombaerts that not only injured him but left the space for Allen's goal was typical of the man too, so often you see him try to rake his studs down the back of the opponents achilles.
Completely agree. Fortunately, as was the case last night, his petulance creates more problems for Liverpool than it solves. Zenit wasted a good 30 seconds complaining about Suarez, and he wasted time as well complaining to the referee and trying to get Neto booked when he could have been trying to make the most of a free kick. Long may he continue to spend more effort on being a **** than on being a top footballer
Not the one you got with about five minutes left. Lucas took a quick one trying to catch Zenit out. One of your players got completely free down the left wing and put a decent ball into the box. And where was Suarez? Still arguing with the ref trying to get the player booked. That was the moment at which I was sure you were going out.
Sorry. Next time I'll make sure to be much clearer to make sure you understand. I'll also try to use words of no more than two syllables
Weren't they playing a Russian team? They tend to win their home games and not turn up for their away games. Aren't they also one of Russia's super rich clubs who have spent a fortune on mercenaries who are interested in the project? Anyway, I'm glad they're pumped up. It's always funny to watch them revert back to despair when they lose a game to a mid table side.
