First of all, I haven't read any of the undoubtedly large number of posts on here regarding last night, but I wanted to say my piece. If it needs to be merged, then carry on MODs. Equally, please delete any WUMs as they are not welcome.

We were magnificent last night. Fire, total commitment, desire and skill. Every player should be proud to be a part of LFC after that effort. The support was everything that had been asked for and expected. I wish I could have been there to be an intimate part of a special night again.

We lost, but in many ways we won and there was plenty of evidence for me last night that we are indeed moving in the right direction. We only lost the plot a little when the subs were made - hindsight and all that.

We must all spare a thought for Jamie Carragher. He won't have slept last night and probably won't for several nights to come and sadly, it'll live with him forever. You've done us proud mate, and it could have happened to anyone. Just remember your heroics in Istanbul whenever last night springs to mind.

Well done Redmen. I'm very proud of you all. You'll never walk alone <ok>

It was a poor mistake from Carra but I think the fundamental error was the first leg where we missed a lot of chances.

I loved the spirit and desire of the players - none more so than our star player, Luis Suarez. He was almost in tears as the final whistle blew and you could just see what it meant to him, and he deserves more. I also loved his reaction when he scored his second goal.

I was immensely proud when you'll never walk on your own rang out round the stadia . Sent shivers down my spine. Though that may have been something else causing it.

The Carra mistake made the game what it was, a night to remember. Not often you remember the night you get knocked out or feel so good/proud afterwards.

The Hendo mistake in the first leg was just as much to blame, cut half of these silly mistakes out and we would be in a better position this season. <ok>

It's so harsh that it was him. 150th game in Europe, more than any other Englishman, and now that's his last game. All he'll remember is that his mistake led to the away goal that ultimately put us out. Twattish luck in the extreme.

I wouldn't worry about that mate. He'll be remembered for his heroic defending the Champions League final <ok>

    Oh my sweet fkn jebus.

They should the energy and desire at a home game where they needed 3 goals.

Skill and technique were lacking greatly. So many final passes wasted, seriously wasted.

Reina pretty much just looked at Hulk as he scored

Defence flapping all over the place.
Attacks whilst causing problems never left is with decent chances.

Total unwillingness to get behind Zenith and instead pass through them.

It would be nice if they could show this desire against WBA or Stoke. But lets praise them for busting a gut for a few 100k a week<ok> Last time we played with that energy and desire was v MU at Anfield earlier this year...<yikes> oh wait, in that game we also failed to create clear chances

Lets praise failure<ok> Miserable failure, there is no way we should have went out to that sheite

My sentiments exactly RHC - loads of positives from last night.

Just hope we get another season of Suarez magic.

We may not have the best team right now but it's nights like last night that remind us what a great club we are.

    Typical glory fan.

We should celebrate the way we played. Last time i saw us play that well was the 88-89 season. Kudos for suarez stamp also. should have gone for his head in my opinion.

The glory days will be back soon.

It's a momentous day. Not often I agree with pretty much everything you say <ok>

Tho' even I think you are being a wee bit harsh - many teams would have rolled over and died after the first goal. The effort and desire was all there, just the execution was lacking at crucial points.

No, we just lost in a situation we should never have been in. Plaster over cracks all you want but that's the bottom line. Andf what were those substitutions about?

Rodgers was to blame for the Henderson (1st leg) and Carra mistakes. <ok>

    Rodgers out!

Anyway, back to the subject. Don't understand BBF's OTT comments.

Zenit had to defend, that is all. It is what they did which explains their lack of attack in the game. Just like WBA, it is hard to score in open play when teams set themselves up like that. We did extremely well to get 3 and in those situations a dead ball is all it takes (penalty against WBA would have won it imo).

**** me, the knee jerk reactions should have come after the 1st leg, not after we won 3-1 and finished 3-3 on Aggregate.
