Simple question, how long will it take and when will we play European football again? On a side note, that was Brendans fault tonight. Playing well and back in the game and brings on two wasters with Downing making up a trio of them.
The missus just came home from her basket weaving class early, jesus I had to switch on the porn she nearly caught me watching Liverpool!
In hindsight the substitutions definitely did hinder us, but I don't think you can blame Rodgers too much for that. He was throwing on two guys very capable of scoring goals (Assaidi's record at Heerenveern isn't too shabby for a winger) in place of two players, one of whom has played a lot of football at high intensity recently (Henderson) and one who is extremely unprolific despite tonight's goal (although he was good tonight).
Getting back into Europe! For that to happen you need to finish top 6 and hope the two Cup Finalists are teams in the current top 5. If Wigan were to get to the Final otherwise it is only the team finishing 5th, Swansea and the cup finalist (Blackburn or Wigan perhaps) here is always the possibility of the Fair Play system.
I see a lot of 'next season' responses here, I'm sure some of our not to distant chums will lap that up...
if 6th gets you into Europe we may get in it again next season, although that depends on utd,City etc to do us a fav doesn't it in the cup? cant blame the subs, we would all be saying good subs by Brendan if Shelvey had taken his chance, although Henderson didn't deserve to come off, hindsight is a wonderful thing, wasn't to be sadly, but ****ing good effort by the lads
Who give s a **** what either the Bitters or the Mancs think? It's no their thoughts that we are interested in - nosey bastards
It depends when we get Borini back. Here's an idea for a poll: when will we win something again? ****ing media agenda: Liverpool deemed a failure due to not getting top 4 but a trophy and another final, rebuilding notwithstanding. Arsenal deemed a failure due to getting top 4 for 13 years running but not winning anything. And Brendan set to make us the New Arsenal. Double ****.
Does raise an interesting hypothetical question - would you be happy if Everton won the FA Cup if that meant Liverpool got into Europe next season. I know they don't have to win, or even reach the final, and would need to finish fourth or fifth with you in sixth for it to happen, but hypothetically is that a trade any of you would be willing to make?
I have absolutely no problem with Everton being successful as long as it is not at our expense. If their success actually helps us... even better. In an ideal world Liverpool would win every trophy and Everton would always finish a spot below us. As long as they are beneath us... I wish Everton good results.
